The FREAKING idiot thinks he can just set a mission willy nilly whatever he wants to and the generals job is just to DO WHAT HE SAYS!

Yeah, Rowdy, that''s pretty much how it works when you''re commander in chief.

the surge may or may not have worked. The surge is not the total answer. The surge may have been a support for the already internal changes of people within the country who began to fight with us. You can not put every success on the surge because it was not the only action taking place. Other actions were occuring before the surge. Besides I thought the surge was to give the Iraq time to get their act together. If so, we won nothing--just gave a stalemate so the Iraqis could focus.

Thank you Katie! You did an outstanding job interviewing both candidates. It is so refresing to see a journalist ask tough questions of the candidates and not let them get away with not directly answering. I''m so tired of hearing Obama babble about nonsense. Even though you patiently asked Obama four times if he could admit the surge has been successful, he couldn''t answer yes, and admit he was wrong. Hopefully America will set the Kool Aid down and wake up to the fact that Senator Obama is incompetent, inexperienced and ignorant. He is in no way qualified to be the Commander and Chief of this country.

Couric/CBS - You make me sick. Why don''t you shed a little light on your cover up of McCain''s monumental F-up? Couric didn''t need to do a public colonoscopy for us to know she is full of....

Will someone please call Sen. Obama and tell him what a rifle squad is. He needs to know what he%u2019s not qualified to command. Commander in Chief? You gotta be kidding me.

Once again, they ask Obama "what if''s" "what would you do" etc.. but not one question similarly asked to McCain. She asked Obama the same question THREE TIMES to try to get him on record as agreeing with McCain on the surge but Couric NEVER asked McCain was his vote on the war wrong. She is a puppet. She thought that the money she''s receiving from CBS (i.e. "see bullsh*t)thought somehow that would turn her into a man and be accepted. I''ll be glad when her weak self is finally off of news television.

%u201CHe''''''''s not telling him how to fight a war. Obama''''''''s setting policy and the General is expected to carry it out.%u201D

The General and almost every other military leader agrees that the surge is working and now is not the time to pull out. The General and almost every other military leader in the world agrees that setting a timetable for withdrawal without setting goals is not a wise thing to do. History should tell us that if nothing else.

Obama, for fear of splitting from party line is announcing date of surrender. No preset goals, just pull out and leave the Iraqi to deal with chaos by themselves. Instead of fighting the war on two fronts he intends to start fighting in Pakistan next. Since we will have to eventually go back into Iraq and finish that job, we will then effectively be fighting on three fronts.

Wild idea here, let the generals run the war. Short of invading another country or using nukes the president and congress should only oversee the war and make sure the military has everything they need to do the job. Our Congress is doing the exact opposite. They run the war but won%u2019t supply what is needed.

Iraq should supplement their oil revenues with commerical crops of poppies and cannabis. American Pharmaceutical Corporations avidly buy plant for ingredient. Iraq needs a good financial situation. Saddam Hussein took advantage of Iraq''s poverty.

Katie Couric....Your interview with Obama last night was very unusual for you. You were tough and persistent and asked the right questions. Bravo. You can turn your apparent obvious liberal bias around with this type of hard interviewing. Great job. Of course, Obama danced around your questions and lacked substance as usual, but it was good to see some decent and professional journalism being played out in your interview. The media should not cowtow to Obama and let him tell you what kinds of questions to ask and how to ask them. That''s just rediculous.

Talk about bias! In the name of "time", they edit McCain''s interview to take out a gaffe and replace it with an answer that is LONGER than the gaffe???? It appears that they will do anything to prevent him from appearing stupid but even they have to realize that the truth will come out, no matter how much they try to protect him.

As for Obama, he get the grilling by that insipid sycophant, Ms. Couric.

Last time I watch CBS.

again, Obama shows his true colors...those of naivety and arrogance. Maybe he should watch a movie like Obsession (www.obsessionthemovie.com) before trying to speak on terrorism and nat''l security issues. How he continues to walk on water is just shocking to me..

I listened to both Obama''s and McCain''s interviews and what struck me about those interviews is Obama''s focus on the issues whereas McCain could only attack Obama. Seems to me McCain is frustrated because Obama has been right all along and is a more adept leader.

Bottom line, if McCain is such a great leader, he would not have to resort to such low level tactics. He has become truly pathetic and in the end, his true character has shown through when his back is against the wall.

guad07rg, did you read all of the postings? For those of you who have your negative comments either about Obama, or McCain good for you, its called freedom of speech, my comment was about that 10% who take it to that other level by using racial slurs. And by the way guad07rg congratulations on your ten years of service, you should have learned some sort of values, and professionalism when it comes to ethics.

How the hell does the Commander in Chief set a mission when he has no idea what the capabilities of the military are....especially in light of Obama stating that it is his job to set the mission NOT listen to the generals!

The man is a crackhead idiot and has no idea what he''''s even saying!!!!

Do you EVEN understand how IGNORANT this man is when you see the stupidity of his statements???

The FREAKING idiot thinks he can just set a mission willy nilly whatever he wants to and the generals job is just to DO WHAT HE SAYS!

Obama Hated Reagan.....and why not Obama is a Marxist

Sen. Barack Obama''s platform is his politics of "understanding." Obama has been careful not to define the issues upon which he runs; rather, he explains that it is time to "move forward," to discard "ideology," to reach a new "common ground" built on an "understanding" of broad-based values. Of course, this is pure Grade A pap, since Obama fails to define those values, except in broad generalities. Yes, he''s for the flag (but not against burning it %u2013 he voted against the flag-protection amendment), motherhood (as long as taxpayers foot the bill for day care and abortion on demand remains legal) and apple pie (he has not had to vote on apple pie). But where does he stand?
Obama is a liberal, and a rather radical liberal at that. According to Obama''s new best seller, "The Audacity of Hope," Obama hates Ronald Reagan: He was "disturbed %u2026 by Ronald Reagan''s election in 1980 %u2026 unconvinced %u2026 by his John Wayne, ''Father Knows Best'' pose, his policy by anecdote and his gratuitous assaults on the poor."

Is this the America we turned into? I thought this was a place where intelligent men, and women could express their opinions in a mature, and responsible manner...

You have not been paying attention. I saw these same animosities even before Bush. When the Republicans waged a dirty campaign to discredit a sitting Democratic president and almost succeeded in impeaching him. In the view of conservatives, all because of Bill''s lie. Then the Republicans got their man in the White House and the lies were bigger.

I thought this was a place where intelligent men, and women could express their opinions in a mature, and responsible manner; but this has turned into a place where racist, and bigots come to rant, and disgrace this country I love and spent three years in Iraq, and one year in Afghanistan defending.

Yesterday I went to the Dentist. I didn%u2019t tell him how to put a crown on my tooth because I have never been a dentist. I pay him to know what he%u2019s doing.

Senator Obama has never served in the military but he thinks he%u2019s qualified to tell General Petraeus how to fight a war or end a conflict. I wonder if he tells his dentist how to fix the lies between his teeth. He should tell his neurologist how to fix the nonsense coming out of his head.

The General is a professional just like a doctor or dentist. Tell him what you want done then ask what he needs to do it. NEVER tell a professional how to do his job unless you are qualified to do so. ... Obama isn%u2019t.

The only thing worse than a kid who thinks he knows everything is a grown man who thinks he knows everything. Most of us get out of that a lot sooner.
