*** Mccain is NOT electable. End or story!
He''''s a heathen Muslim and you want him to run a country that has In God We Trust imprinted on it''''s currency. We''''ve lost our ability to be ashamed of ourselves. We''''ll some of us are ashamed of the rest of us any way.

*** So you think you are a great christian do you? I''m sure Jesus wouldn''t have said to attack Iraq! He would have said to love thy enemy! But you are the real fanaticals! What is so wrong with a Muslims? If anything, if Bush is really Christian like he claims, I''m embarrassed to be Christian! Why can''t you idiot republicans finally put up a candidate that isn''t pro war and pro amnesty for over 12 million illegal mexicans????? - Reply to this comment
- One month after 911, Ray Hunt [texas oil billionaire and Loyal Bushie] was appointed to the Presidents Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board [he also sits on the board of Halliburton]. Their advice? Get Iraqi oil, no matter how many American soldiers it kills.
Now Ray has a no-bid contract to exploit oil from Northern Iraq. He''s not even doing it through the Iraqi government, which Bush wants companies to do, he''s gone around them through the Kurds for higher profits. The gov''t will let him do it cuz he''s a Bush man.
Bush says the high cost of oil is a matter of ordinary Americans ''putting food on the table''. The truth? Its about texas billionaires being granted official access to advise him to invade Iraq and then reaping the profits from his doing so, while other Americans try on their new arms and legs.
Read it and weep, ctyankee9 - Reply to this comment
- Will someone explain to the few dorks who think we went there to steal someones oil. We didn''t steal the german''s beer or japan''s noodles. I asked someone else to explain... because they probably logged off and went back to the Soros fan club.

- Who took the leash off of this lady? This was the type of interview reporters did years ago. Like or dislike Obama it is the job of a reporter to put the heat on someone who wants the highest office in the land if not the world. Heat without animosity or predjudice, this lady should be proud!!!

- If Couric would consistently ask questions like this she would get my attention as a viewer. These are the very questions that I would have asked and she persisted. Good job.

- The generals were against the Iraq war before it started, but Bush%u2019s Texas Oil Oligarchy overruled them. All we%u2019ve seen from the %u201CBush Oil Crew%u201D is lies and deceit. What can make good all the bad that%u2019s been done?
Why isn''t Iraq''s oil flowing for us? What''s taking so long? - Reply to this comment
- I MUST ADMIT THAT MS.COURIC WAS NOT MS. COURIC, SHE WAS A REPORTER THAT ASKED AND INVESTIGATED ISSUES WITHOUT CONCERN TO EMOTIONS OR PERSONAL IMPULSES. MAYBE THERE''S HOPE FOR JOURNALISM IN AMERICA. NEWSPAPERS ARE FAILING NATIONWIDE, NOT BECAUSE AMERICA STOPPED READING, BUT BECAUSE THE REPORTERS WRITE WHAT THEY FEEL INSTEAD OF WHAT THEY REVEAL.IF EDITORS STARTED SEEING THIS AND HAVING THE TESTRO''S TO ALWAYS CHALLENGE THEIR NEWSMEN TO BE FLATLINE ON ISSUES AMERICA WILL READ AND DIGEST.THANK''S MS.COURIC, FOR SHOWING ME SOMETHING NEW IN YOU.

- The Bush%u2019s Texas Oil Oligarchy is disturbing. No mention of the torture, death, and destruction of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi people %u2013 all of it for oil, really. Yes, it is quite disturbing to know that our soldiers have killed untold numbers of innocent Iraqi men, women and children so that we could control their vast oil fields.

- McCain and Bush have consistently presented the surge as a straw-man argument: the surge won the war and thus was proven to be the effective choice. Obama has sought to show a bigger picture, and contrary to Katie Couric and her microscopic view, if you stop and listen he makes a great deal of sense.
A. The surge is not singularly responsible for the decrease in violence: the ethnic cleansing that occured prior to surge removed the need; Sunnis in Iraq turned against al-Qaeda, in part because we paid them to do so. Bribing Sunni warlords to cease and desist merely reveals the fact that Iraq WAS NEVER the central front against terror in the first place. The Sunnis who supported Saddam were always secularists and they only allowed al-Qaeda in as long as they blew up Shiites for them. The Iraqis will simply not allow al-Qaeda to operate there, especially if the UNITED STATES LEAVES.
B. Obama thus continues the argument that continued troop presence in Iraq, as well as the 10 to 12 billion a month, actually detract from U.S. security interests, especially in Afghanistan. In addition, that 10 to 12 billion could certainly be used to help deal with the on-going economic crisis in this country. I would certainly agree that the economic crisis in this country (energy, health, housing, etc.) poses the single greatest threat to the security of working-class Americans anyway. - Reply to this comment
- All of the people that said they didn''t want 4 more yrs. with a republican in office all but nailed the door shut for anything else with the nomination of Obama!!!

- Obama is over there for his longoverdue photo op thanks to the security the surge provided yet he refuses to admit the surge was the right thing to do and still wouldn''t have voted for it despite the progress he just witnessed, I don''t know about yo folkjs but his guy is as big an idiot as Kerry was last time around. His complete lack of logic is profound and exemplifies his need to pander to the screaming child leftwing of the party. At least he admits there is a war on terror even though his talking point that there is only one front is ludicrous.

- Interesting that every national news anchor is in the Middle East with Barack Obama, but as far as I know none have accompanied McCain on any of his several trips there. I would think his life experience with conflict at home and abroad would make him an attractive subject. Apparently the national news networks do not think so. But of course, it isn''t a bias any more than the Dan Rather flub was. Of course not. The softballs Ms. Couric tosses Obama versus the hostile interrogation she gives McCain on your currently posted video is also clearly not a sign of any bias on the part of CBS. Congratulations. I''m sure your balanced approach to this campaign will boost your ratings. At least until Barack has been in office for about three years and we are in the worst depression and war we have ever known.

- Did anybody else happen to notice that, when Couric interviewed Obama, the talk centered around issues and his positions on those issues. I think McCain''s name only came up once during the whole thing.
And when she interviewed McCain, all McCain did was attack Obama. She even tried to illuminate this with that "You seem to be frustrated with Sen. Obama" remark. But he wasn''t gonna go for it...He just kept turning everything into an attack on Obama.
I gotta hunch the last thing he wants to do is discuss the issues. - Reply to this comment

- According to Obama, the surge worked but it wasn''t the right move. ROFL
Just politics as usual. The other side can never be given any credit, his side is always right even though he''s never done the things he''s considering, and the average Joe will get to pay the tab for his socialized medicine should he succeed with it.
(Check out England, which has has socialized medicine for a long time now. Sales tax is 17%, called the VAT. In the last two years people there are pulling their own rotten teeth with pliers because they can''t get an appointment with a ''state'' dentists, and can''t afford the private ones). - Reply to this comment
- It''s amazing to me. I''ve been reading the anti-Obama comments on these boards for several days now. I didn''t go back all the way to the beginning on this one, but I went back quite a ways, and consistent themes emerge. Emotionally loaded nonsense, hysteria, astounding irrationality, and fear, fear, and more fear. The anti-Obama crowd must be afraid of it''s own shadow. I don''t know which is greater, the fear or the denial around it or all the compensatory "tough-guy posturing". And it seems to be getting more and more frantic as the days pass. By the time November gets here, this bunch is gonna be out there on the crackpot fringe.
