Big deal. Give us some real news. Congress takes a 4th of July vacation every year so what''s the big surprise. If these measures were so important to the nation and the administration, why weren''t they brought before the Congress before mid-summer? Creating a little news or what? What being the issue! An answer from CBS would mean more than the tripe being tossed about on the website about a do-nothing Congress.

The White haouse has been on vacation for 7 1/2 years neglecting their duties and pursuing their own agenda. Now congress is guilty because they take a few weeks off. This story is redicules!

This will happen only if we begin to hold those people accountable. So far they have skated in on empty promises and then started working their own agendas once elected. We need to show them who they work for and start recall elections if necessary.

Let''s be fair -- how many bills has the House passed that sit in the Senate because Republicans hold them up with their filibusters? Or how many threats and vetoes has Bush penned that Congress can''t override. There have been a few bills passed addressing the issues raised above that Republicans have rejected BECAUSE THE DEMS TRY TO FIND A WAY TO PAY FOR THEM.

So be fair -- just because they take a recess doesn''t mean they aren''t working or haven''t tried. In fact, I just got back from a parade -- the third my Congressperson was in that day. And if you think parades aren''t work, then you''ve never been a candidate (or at least a good one....)

If the Dems can take the White House and a bigger majority in Congress, things MIGHT start to happen. But Americans need to know that we are in for tough times, and sacrifice will be called for and needed.

The DNC is a sleaze-ridden fraud. And anyone who thinks the DNC is "different" than the GOP is naive. Since being handed Congress, other than treachery, pandering and pork spending, what has the DNC accomplished?

And now, the DNC biggest fraud ever - Barack Obama - is cozying up to the likes of Bill Clinton and Ed Rendell. Yep, business as usual.

At least with McCain we can get rid of him in four years. With Obama though, we''ll be stuck with this lying fraud for eight years.

Wake up America, Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Clinton-Squared, Rendell and the DNC are complete and utter frauds. Lying, pandering, sleazy frauds.

Any prgressive who votes for this trash is an idiot. You will continue to be used by them. Think about it.

When Democrats, Many Republicans, and independents voted overwhelmingly for Democrats in the last congressional election, it wasn''t because we actually thought these Democrats were better, or would do anything in particular, we were just voting against the war. The war continues because it has to so the war profiteers can continue making money off it.

Congress fuiddles while Rome burns. For the hungry, feed them cake. They treat us as morons--maybe we are. By the way, the more I read about what Congress allows, I tend to believe they regard us as a toilet. Again, maybe we are.

It''s interesting that the Democrat majority congress passed legislation back in 2006 to allow China to drill for oil within 45 miles of our Florida coastline...and now they refuse to allow American oil company''s the same privilege - in fact, the Democrats won''t allow any U.S. drilling within 90 miles of our own shoreline!

The Democrats don''t feel anybody''s pain, they just want to make Americans suffer with higher fuel and food costs, so they can blame in on Republicans - and hope they fool enough people to get themselves elected again.

For this, and many other reasons, the Democrat controlled congress has got to go!

If I was Congress I would take a vacation until Obama is sworn in as President.

It''s not like you can override any veto to stop George Bush''s trickle down policy failures to correct the economy, so why try?

Republicans are still in control and that means you have to blame them for our current economic disaster.

The democrat majority Congress is paralyzed because they are afraid of common sense solutions to our problems. They know that the ultra-left True Believers won''t like it, and they wrongly perceive that these radical leftists are their "base" in the democrat party. It''s all about getting re-elected, the future be hanged.

Any Congressman who is lacking in the intelligence to see what is needed and the integrity to take the necessary steps ought to be permanently vacationed by their voters back home.

Drill now, drill here, pay less!

Hey now, it''s hard work when you''re being lobbied by oil companies and pharmaceutical giants; and then there''s the risk of dehydration from the excessive salivation that their money elicits LOL and you thought our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan were going through hardships. Happy Independence Day, everyone :)
