Comments on: Road Warning: $7 Gas May Be Ahead
Economist Predicts Increase By 2010, Which Would Take 10 Million Cars Off The Road
- and what does anyone here wanna guess on whether or not we will get pay raises to offset the cost of the increase of gas, food and everything else that requires it to be trucked in? anyone? no one will get pay raises and they won''t raise the cap on assistance from the government to help buy food for families. we will be at the same pay rate we are at now and the goverment cap will remain the same and there will be no food on the food shelves and we won''t be able to feed our families. democrats, republicans, independents - they don''t care. no one in the government cares about us peons. as long as the rich have their yachts and country clubs and month long vacations to the arctic or some other outlandish place, who care about us? no one. but because we are the working poor we can''t afford to stand up to these people. i''m wondering where our kids are gonna be in 10 years. that scares me to death.

What policy or policies failed that caused high oil prices?

He will not answer you as he is too stupid to follow up his foolish opinions with fact. There are a lot of reasons gas is high right now, none I can think of are Bush''s fault. - Reply to this comment

- I wonder if $7.00 a gallon gas will be enough for our government to finally have an energy policy. Probably not.

Why do you think our government doesn''t have an energy policy? - Reply to this comment
- Makes you wonder how many people will resort to deadly force to protect their property.
Like a tank full of gas that costs $210.00?

- Every increase in Gas Expenses will be passed on by the small business man and retailer. Count on it.
Hire a plumber or electrician lately? They have to drive those large vans and trucks and you will be paying for it. Another Fact - Reply to this comment

- Let us all read between the lines in an honest fashion. The goal is to make us less likely to drive, more dependent on Uncle Sam (who will turn his back on the majority of us) and to create a wider poor working class. This sets well with the rich, and when the rich are happy, so is the government! Remember one of the stated goals of the terrorists on 9/11 was to f_ _ k up our economy. IS ANYBODY LISTENING?

- LOL, this chat room automatically edited out the first name of our vp, Mr. Cheney.
there was 15% tax when gas was relatively cheap, it didnt cause this. C''mon dude. Hey, its probably all that welfare we give to slackers! yeah, thats it. - Reply to this comment
- Isipela, the US can''t regulate an international commodity like oil. It''s our weak dollar that caused this and allows the speculators to pay more for oil. The question is why is our dollar so weak. I wonder how much money *** Cheney has tied up in Euros?

- First off let''s make one thing clear the oil companies are making a 4% profit per gallon. They are not the problem the problem is our government who is imposing a 15% tax per gallon. They need to get their tax monies elswhere. And start building some *** refineries already. These republican big-wigs that are spoon feeding their oil cronies need to stop this useless war and start building some refineries. Let''s worry about the people of America already.

- So who is this ********* economist Rubin, who does he work for, and what type of "energy report" is this? Just pick a shocking number and make a headline.
That being said, people have been predicting this for years but no, everyone had to have their bigass suv. Well, have fun unloading it now. Even republicans will be driving small cars soon. Hilarious. See, the hippies were right. Right about smoking pot and suv''s and right about hummus. Wrong about showering though. - Reply to this comment
- If oil prices keep going up too much, not only will some products return to being manufactured in the USA, but, too even further reduce the transportation costs of goods, some corporations may build more & smaller factories in various parts of the country, so that transporting goods WITHIN REGIONAL areas can further reduce gas transportation costs.

- We are being totally played. Time to take over the oil companies and get some government reps to not be crooked, corporatists to oversee them.

- Hey forget about oil we have the technology to run the entire world off of water, sun, wind, and wave power.
Bye Bye you stupid Oil companies, you have made your billions *** us these last 3 years. Your time has come, we don''t need you any more, its time for you to think about how it feels when your business files for bankruptcy, or can''t afford to pay your house bill, or food on the table.
Say hello to new technology, and green power!!!! - Reply to this comment

- I think it''s time for the US gov''t to start regulating the oil industry. The oil speculators ARE the ones driving up the prices. I bet Cheney & Co. are real happy and laughing at the rest of us who are working class.
