Katie Couric Asks The Top Candidates How They'd Handle The Economic Slump
- ROMNEY would be good for the economy and good for our country. He is the only one who can derail the McCain Train. BEWARE of false claims that will fly today - they offer no proof or source. It is clear that ROMNEY is the choice of conservatives. Check this source: GOOGLE these words: Levin - Rally - Romney - National - Review; and read "Rally for Romney". Let''s stick with the FACTS. Let''s get the best Justices for the Supreme Court ...VOTE for ROMNEY !!!

- PLEASE READ THIS:
The American Family Association has released an excellent voter''s guide that you should read carefully before you vote in the Super Tuesday primaries. I have included a link to the guide, so in this article I will only summarize some of the most important information.
In this guide the American Family Association lists eight issues on which the answer of any real Conservative should be a resounding "Yes!" Not surprisingly, none of the three Democrat candidates answered yes to a single one. I was surprised to find that only one Republican candidate had a perfect record. Mike Huckabee was for each of these important issues. More important, he has always been in favor of them. Not one of these was a new position for him.
Some of the issues are proposed legislation; some are proposed Constitutional amendments; some are simply moral positions, such as the refusal to participate in "Gay Pride" celebrations. (Both Romney and Giuliani have participated in these disgusting events "celebrating" homosexuality.)
The first test is whether a candidate supports a national Human Life Amendment. All the candidates claim to be pro-life, but only Mike Huckabee passed this test.
Here is the link to the chart:

If you want a true conservative candidate who HAS NOT flip flopped on the issues and become a recent "convert" to conservatism like Mitt Romney, then Mike Huckabee is your man! - Reply to this comment
- I find an interesting thing occurring. Congressman Ron Paul WAS the ORIGINAL ECONOMY candidate.
If anyone has taped the EARLIER debates where Ron Paul spoke up about the Economy problems HE was the one being LAUGHED at by Giuliani, McCain and ESPECIALLY Romney. Huckabee I''''ll say was a little more polite at least.
The ONLY thing the other GOP candidates were pushing earlier was who was the biggest, baddest WARMONGER. The economy being in trouble to them and their talking head controllers then was referred to as a "subject for crackpots" to quote some of the worst NEOCON pundits.
NOW, there is this HUGE flip-flop in the GOP and EVERY GOP candidate is CLAIMING to BE LIKE Ron Paul WITHOUT Acknowledging him at all!
They''''re speaking Ron Paul''''s Platform in bits and pieces like kids that are trying Not to swallow medicine but still trying to please their parent.
In other words they''''re saying what people want to hear but as soon as he voters turn their backs - like our Failure In Chief, George W. I FULLY expect the other candidates to "spit it out" and go BACK ON THEIR WORDS.
Ron Paul does have to be PROUD that HIS platform is the one EVERYBODY else is now attempting to COPY.

- Well America is the largest enterprise in the world and there is only one candidate from either party that''s qualified to run that enterprise
.........and that''s Mitt Romney, no question about it.
For me, I''m looking for a candidate that has a "proven record" of accomplishments a "walker" not a "talker".
Washington DC is BROKEN and only Mitt Romney has the ability to fix it which is why alot of folks called him Mr. Fixer or Mr. Economy.
If Mitt wins CALIFORNIA he will be the GOP nominee and our next president.
................GO MITT ! , the best of all the rest! - Reply to this comment

You people are so sad! Just how rediculous are you willing to get here? LMAO Obama is from the state of Illinois and is NOT a Muslim. But what difference does that make? Do you people have ANY respect, whatsoever, for our Constitution? It PLAINLY says there will be NO RELIGIOUS TEST of our elected officials... NO RELIGIOUS TEST! Now after the last 7 years anyone with a brain should understand why the founders found it necessary to include THAT into our Constitution. After all some in this nation INSISTED on a Southern FASCIST as our president didn''t they? - Reply to this comment
- Just the measures I outlined above will provide more jobs than we can handle, and if the Government prints money to pay for it, at least that money will have real value, as it will be backed by the results of real labor, and will be spent by those who performed the labor.
After that we could discuss impeachment, and war crimes trials, but that is another topic. - Reply to this comment
- None of them have a real answer, here it is.
1. Modernize and rebuild the transportation infrastructure, roads, bridges, highways, railroads, air and sea ports
2. Modernize the and upgrade telecommunications infrastructure to accommodate at least 16 times current capacity.
3. Rebuild, upgrade, and modernize our schools and public education infrastructure.
4. Rebuild, modernize, and expand the public health care infrastructure
5. Review all foreign aid, end aid to countries that already have a modern military force, and end aid to all countries that because of corruption, cannot account for past aid.
6. Nationalize all vital infrastructure components, as they are too important to be left to the greedy whims of corrupt private corporations.
7. Register all employees that work in the above projects, issue paychecks directly to them, to avoid cheating and other corrupt practices of private contractors.
8. End all hostile military aggression against sovereign states that have not attacked us.
9. Recover all money corrupted during the two "wars" against Iraq, including seizing assets of companies that abused the funding, defund and disband the CIA.
10. Require all new auto and truck sales to be hybrids by 2012.
I have a few more, but the 1500 limit is coming. - Reply to this comment
- Earthlives says: "McCain is a liberal who teamed up with Ted Kennedy to grant amnesty to 20 million illegal aliens, voted AGAINST the middle class tax cuts, and couldn%u2019t care less about defending our borders"
Keep repeating the mantra of "middle-class" tax cuts...Rush will be proud of you. The reality tells a far different story. Tax cuts for the wealthy elites and a war to feed the corporate cronies (while predominately lower class soldiers sacrifice or face neglect upon return). The middle-class will cease to exist if the Republicans have their way. They envy the elites of South America who have forever crushed the working class aspirations. Keep buying the BS about the Republicans working for your interests, and along the way don''t forget to get deceived by their faux outrage about illegal immigration. Who do you think hires the illegals? The working class? Oh, and after they wear out the illegal immigration canard (our modern day version bread-n-circus) they will recycle gay marriage or some such deception. Start analyzing the truth, my friend, and turn off the Bill O''Reilly show. - Reply to this comment
- Here is your economic scorecard:
Clinton: Inherited debt from Reagan & Bush I. Final tally for Clinton? Twenty-two million jobs and an economy that benefitted all levels of society. Four years of a balanced budget - three years of a fiscal surplus, including a record 236 billion surplus. Projected surpluses that would have allowed for payment of the national debt along with investment in our childrens future.
Bush II: Immediate deficits due to an irresponsible series of tax-cuts for the wealthy elites - this to go with corporate welfare in the form of taxpayer subsidies for corporate entities who often ship jobs (or corporate headquarters) overseas. Millions more without health insurance while rising energy costs, foreclosures, and health care premiums serve to impoverish the middle-class. Mercenaries and the privatization of war enrich the industrial-military complex. Record profits for the "oiligarchs."
In a word: fascism (the fusion and/or collusion of the political and corporate elites, using faux nationalism, irrational fear, thinly-veiled bigotry, and blind patriotism to cover the loss of freedom and livlihood). Quite a sight to behold my fellow patriots! Especially you blind and ignorant fools who have perpetuated this disaster with your unconditional support of Captain Codpiece and the Mission Accomplished Crew. - Reply to this comment

- The Proposal; to prove once and for all if a Presidential Candidate means what they say. If Obama or Clinton really want to help the underprivileged in this country, prove it, If you put up One Million dollars I''ll put $67.5 Billion dollars into the American economy each year specifically designated to raise people out of poverty. Will you do it? It''s a waste of breath to ask a Republican this as everyone should know by now that Republicans couldn''t care less about the poor. Money talks BS walks.

- Before you go ballistic over Ron Paul''s obvious failure to even register on the radar, why don''t you either look up, or explain, his David Duke newsleters he put out through all of the nineties?

- This is the perfect place for me to give my notice to CBS: I quit.
I grew up with CBS; it was the "default" TV setting at my house. I''ll miss the shows because I''m turning off the set. Why? CBS has treated Presidential candidate Ron Paul abominably and I notice Ms. Couric''s whole series ignores him completely. So much for the Fourth Estate, and shame on you all.
For the record I''m a liberal and a Democrat, but I''ve notice that despite the obvious media blackout on Dr. Paul he is doing an OUTSTANDING job. I''ve never seen anything like it. The PEOPLE want Ron Paul. There are signs for him all over the place! I haven''t seen a SINGLE SIGN for any other candidate in my town.
He even came in 2nd place in 3 primaries, even with the voting "irregularities." Did the media cover it? I don''t know; I only heard crickets. Worse, the primaries using Diebold machines were obviously RIGGED in favor of Clinton and whichever flavor-of-the-month Republican you were running up the flagpole that week. Did you cover the controversy? No? Why?
People love Dr. Paul and nobody likes your CFR/Bilderberg "approved" candidates. People even go so far as to say they LOATHE the other candidates, for being panderers, phonies, criminal, and/or creepy.
How stupid do you people think we are, anyway? Not only am I boycotting CBS and it''s advertisers, I''m going to vote for Ron Paul in the primary just to **** y''all off. Sayonara, and may CBS and the rest of the MSM fade into oblivion, the sooner the better. - Reply to this comment
