Why not leave education up to the states? That''''s how it used to be. There''''s no Constitutional mandate for a Department of Education. Why do energy, disaster aid, etc, have to be federal functions?

Do you seriously think that Louisiana alone could have dealt with Katrina? Seriously?

I am for performance-based administration of departments, not their dissolution.

formrusmcsgt,

I, in NOW WAY, view Dr. Paul as a "savior". That label belongs to Jesus Christ. I do, however, see him as a "New Hope" for our country. :)

Who is your better alternative? Stop being Cowards, STAND FOR SOMETHING!

I support John Edwards, but not because he is an all knowing, all seeing savior or messiah.

sigh, but you still won''''t say whom you support? You are a bona fide coward. That is saying NOTHING of great importance.

I have news for you freegirl1 - the election isn''t tomorrow, it''s 11 months away.

Any reasonable person goes through a process of elimination of the contenders.

I am in that process.

And you are not anyone to hand me a deadline by which time my decision must be made, so shove your arrogance.

What I HAVE done to date is eliminate those I feel deserve no serious consideration whatsoever for various reasons:

Paul
Romney
Huckabee
Guiliani
Clinton
Kucinich

I have 11 months to whittle down to one and need not rush like a high-school cheerleader to any of these contenders like some of you to prove anything to anyone.

FreeGirl1,

I think that it''s wonderful that you support Ron Paul, I do as well.

I don''t agree, however, with insulting others because they don''t agree with you. That will never win anyone over. "You can get more bees with honey", as they say. :)

I''m not here to fight with anyone or insult anyone. I also don''t think that it''s right for you to call formrusmcsgt a coward, either. He is in the military, he has fought for our country. That alone should earn him our respect, even though we''re in dispute over these issues. Luckily, we still live in a free country and are allowed to debate like this.

I think that your adamant support of Dr. Paul is so great! But getting angry at others will ALWAYS turn them off from what you''re saying, no matter how much sense that it makes. :)

sort of like John Edwards paying $400 dollars for a haircut? a call to Wake Up! Perhaps that is what we are doing. Sending out a call to Wake Up.

"Blessed are those who don%u2019t think they have to go out and Do Something About It!"

And this group will probably elect the next President.

Like the Moonies....

Absolutely 100% correct.

"Love bombing is a coordinated effort, usually under the direction of leadership, that involves long-term members'' flooding recruits and newer members with flattery, verbal seduction, affectionate but usually nonsexual touching, and lots of attention to their every remark. Love bombing - or the offer of instant companionship - is a deceptive ploy accounting for many successful recruitment drives."

Ah but whom should we vote for? None of you will say.

Who is your better alternative? Stop being Cowards, STAND FOR SOMETHING!

I dunno, formrusmcsgt, you just seem to be locked into this idea that nothing can be accomplished unless centrally funded and managed. Why not leave education up to the states? That''s how it used to be. There''s no Constitutional mandate for a Department of Education. Why do energy, disaster aid, etc, have to be federal functions?
