Comments on: How To End Homelessness? Provide Homes
Successful Program Gives People Housing First, Social Services Second
- Btw, for all of you just hate the poor, you should know that it is published every year in the UN that billions upon billions are spent by governments the world over for the military complex with all its armaments and krap, of which the US is the leader by far. Yet, just 10% of what the nations spend on their war efforts could cover the world over for basic needs including water, housing, food, and education. Just the basics. Interesting that the world can''t even spend 10 % of this for the benefit of the poor, yet here many of you are being the low life scum, and pretending to be religious, while preaching your hatred. You have all benefitted from some kind of government handout, and you dare to complain about others. Sick!

Wow, we need more profound answers like this.
How about.
How to end world hunger? Provide food.
How to make an addict quit? Stop giving him more drugs.
How to end the war in Iraq? Stop the funding. - Reply to this comment

You mean you don''t like paying 50% of your taxes so fat rich men can sit around and live off of your hard earned money? Because that is where most of your taxes go to bub. And before you take it out on the poor, I have no doubt that you probably qualify big time - minus one month of check. Anyway, most of your tax dollars never reach the poor in any way, shape or form, but we know that you hate the poor, so have at your hate fest. - Reply to this comment
- screen_ident, sounds like it will work as well as our section 8, parole and s-ex offender programs. We cannot keep track of them and what they do and where they are. Hell, we cannot even keep track of the millions of illegal aliens in this country, so I would not expect the control part of this program to work either. I think we should let the people that track mad cow disease run this program. They seem to know where every single burger went across the entire country when there is a threat of mad cow. Now there%u2019s a group that could do this job.
Providing a house is the easy part%u2026keeping it kept up and keeping it off the tax payers to maintain will be the impossible part, in the end. - Reply to this comment

Your party has ruined this country.
Yuo have already stolen my things already, thru taxation, pork barrell for your cronies. The list is too long.
Not to mention your chimp in charge, so I won''t.
BTW, I''m retired, and receiveing no hand outs, though I do qualify. - Reply to this comment

Correction, they hate government regulations they''re told to hate, so that they''re distracted from the reg''s that redistribute wealth upwards. - Reply to this comment
- So the premise of this "new" public housing, as opposed to the "old" public housing, is that the residents will be required to meet with a social worker on a periodic basis? So what happens when the residents dont show up for their scheduled appointments? Then they lose their tenancy and they are back on the street? Then they are back on the street so they qualify for public housing again? Sounds like a revolving door type scenario that dengerates in public owned slums.

- MichaelT302, I agree with you 100%. I am not saying this is a good program or a bad one, nor am I saying that I want my money going to people that abuse it, rich AND poor. I am simply responding to yet another hypocrite repubtard or two that say they follow this jesus guy, who himself allegedly helped the poorest of the poor, who said that if you do help the poor, you do not help me, yet he/they responds to this situation in a contrary manner.
