This news is important to remind us why 99.9 % of the pie is going to defense contractors and not to american citizens evacuated, displaced and otherwise ravaged by hurricanes, tornadoes and fires off the charts of historical severity.

Anybody watching a "James Bond" movie or even an episode of the "Get Smart" TV series knows nasties will attempt stunts of the shoe accord.

What the article says is accurate and transcends action drama or a sitcom.

"Where one person will carry component A, the next person will carry component B, and they will meet together past the safety point, past the checkpoint and reassemble," explained Mike White, the director of training"

I prefer the X and Y over the A and B theory.
Also if A wears one shoe and B is wearing the other shoe to the airport I always change my travel plans.
Lastly, if the shoe fits wear it.

All this could be taken care of simply by posting a guard at the entrance to the airport telling all passengers, "Regular travelers to the right, terrorist to the left."

...Are you just joking or what? CBS please....6 years ago some clown tried to light a pair of shoes, he failed. Is it such a poor news day that you have to rehash old stuff or are you blindly repeating rubbish propaganda marketed by Homeland Security to maintain fear in this country. I am not afraid nor will I let stand this government''s attempts to disassemble the basic rights guaranteed in writing by our founding fathers

blazercoach1,

Re: "Less than 48 hours ago, we had people complaining because the White House allegedly struck from a CDC report speculation about what diseases MIGHT flourish in a warmer climate."

"Folks who are doing this are just as guilty as those they point the finger at. Why would you want to speculate about what diseases MIGHT flourish and not want to know about the methods of a group who IS ACTIVELY flourishing against us??"

That''s easy. The former is base on something called "science", while the latter is based only on paranoia, blather, lies, hype, fear, hatred, and ignorance.

Can you see the difference now?

And look out for shoes with spikes in the toes covered with tetrodotoxin! Rosa Kreb wore those in "From Russia With Love"!

We''ve had people on here suggesting that warning us about the methods used by people who have not only sworn to kill us but have already done so is just alarmist propoganda.

Less than 48 hours ago, we had people complaining because the White House allegedly struck from a CDC report speculation about what diseases MIGHT flourish in a warmer climate.

Folks who are doing this are just as guilty as those they point the finger at. Why would you want to speculate about what diseases MIGHT flourish and not want to know about the methods of a group who IS ACTIVELY flourishing against us??

Seems the consistent view point would be to want to know about both potential dangers or none at all. And if it''s none at all......why in the hell are you reading the news anyways?

The Bob Orr report is propaganda -- pure and simple. No facts -- more "terrorism" being systematically fed to us by government officials whose next target is Iran. Recognize it for what it is -- the same kind of rhetoric leading up to the Iraq war.
