LawyerTom,

Tom, I know cynism is rampant in America right now, but claiming all warnings are political is like saying all of Pelosi''s SCHIP bills are political.

Go travel to the Middle East. Put a PDNY ball cap on and have a ball. It is all political anyway so there is no reason to worry.

I am not saying that we cannot learn anything from history, Churchil was a arrogant, warmongering, well the list goes on a bit.

That was 1940, 67 years ago, the world is very much a different place today, and in fact we are living in the legacy of people like Churchill & Stalin and the creation of Israel (1947) which is the root cause of most Middle East conflicts.

So your quoting from history, what about dealing with the reality of what is happening for real now ?

I am no ''American Hater'', and please do not pigeon hole everyone within a boundry of a country as the same, one would have to be rather void of any intellect to go down that well trodden path. And of course western Europe are very much responsible for their part in the state we find the modern world in, but lets be calm about this ok, meaning like lets not rush into a war with Iran the stakes are very high, and we need to tread carefully using every diplomatic tool available to us to move forward on this one. The Texan riding in with his six shooter on a horse is not the way to deal with Iran, Iraq has been an unmitigated disaster for all those invloved. Your the one playing the ''ethnic card'' here, when one runs out of proper argument then one stoops to insulting another country/race etc.

We are, of course, very concerned, Mr. Chairman, that the policies of Iran constitute perhaps the single greatest challenge for American security interest in the Middle East and possibly around the world, because the combination of Iranian terrorism, Iranian repression at home and the pursuit of nuclear weapons technology . . . is a very dangerous mix," she said.

SOUNDS ALOT LIKE WHAT WAS SAID TO THE UNITED NATIONS JUST BEFORE WE ATTACT IRAQ..REMEMBER...LOOK OUT EVERYONE WE ARE ABOUT TO GO IN

WE SHALL NEVER SURRENDER!!!
We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God''s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old. Winston Churchill Speech in the House of Commons (4 June 1940)

NEVER GIVE IN!!!
Never give in%u2014 never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy. Winston Churchill Speech given at Harrow School (29 October 1941)

ARM YOURSELVES!!!!
"Arm yourselves, and be ye men of valour, and be in readiness for the conflict; for it is better for us to perish in battle than to look upon the outrage of our nation and our altar." Winston Churchill This call and spur to the faithful servants of Truth and Justice was quoted by Churchill in his first broadcast as Prime Minister to the British people on the BBC - May 19, 1940, London.

VICTORY AT ALL COSTS!!!
I would say to the House, as I said to those who have joined this Government: ''I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears, and sweat.'' We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many long months of struggle and suffering. You ask, what is our policy? I can say: It is to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us: to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy. You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word: It is victory, victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival. Winston Churchill Speech in the House of Commons, after taking office as Prime Minister (13 May 1940) This has often been misquoted in the form: "I have nothing to offer but blood, sweat and tears..."

I hear you and I bet you will have the FBI monitoring you now - Bush and his kronies have been known to monitor dissidents - very eerily like Nazi Germany.

Actually I am quietly frightened because I am aware of how much monitoring goes on, I know people in the US who are terrified of saying anything via the net or telephone. I just telephoned my brother to inform him actually in case I was to ''not be around''. That''s not paranoia, here in the UK there''s a facility that can monitor 20 million telephone calls at any given time. My father once said, never write anything down that you don''t want anyone else to know. Today I felt it right to be strong and have the moral courage to comment about what ''perhaps'' needs to be discussed.

Lt. Cmdr. Charles E. Madison: You American haters bore me to tears, Ms. Barham. I''ve dealt with Europeans all my life. I know all about us parvenus from the States who come over here and race around your old Cathedral towns with our cameras and Coca-cola bottles... Brawl in your pubs, paw at your women, and act like we own the world. We over-tip, we talk too loud, we think we can buy anything with a Hershey bar. I''ve had Germans and Italians tell me how politically ingenuous we are, and perhaps so. But we haven''t managed a Hitler or a Mussolini yet. I''ve had Frenchmen call me a savage because I only took half an hour for lunch. Hell, Ms. Barham, the only reason the French take two hours for lunch is because the service in their restaurants is lousy. The most tedious lot are you British. We crass Americans didn''t introduce war into your little island. This war, Ms. Barham to which we Americans are so insensitive, is the result of 2,000 years of European greed, barbarism, superstition, and stupidity. Don''t blame it on our Coca-cola bottles. Europe was a growing brothel long before we came to town.

I was a fanatic...I know their thinking, says former radical Islamist
By blaming the Government for our actions, those who pushed this "Blair''s bombs" line did our propaganda work for us.
More important, they also helped to draw away any critical examination from the real engine of our violence: Islamic theology.

Our Prophet commanded us to fight the kaafirs when we are able and to attack them in their homelands and to give them three choices before we enter their lands: either they become Muslim and be like us, sharing our rights and duties; or they pay the jizyah (poll tax) and feel themselves subdued; or they fight, in which case their wealth, women, children and homes become permissible as booty for the Muslims.

How about CD''s coated with Semtech? or candy bars filled with C4? Perhaps pottery mixed with Nitroglycerin? Cans of playdough mixed with keroscene, styrofoam, and glycerin? As long as the government gives out this information as "warnings", the ideas will continue to get more refined and the possibilities of them bearing bitter fruit will surely come to pass as foul as the flatulence from the bush regime. BTW, one of the most popular costumes around as far as monsters go is masks and costumes of ole'' dubya & deek cheney. Kids are such cute little dickens aren''t they? They can be found in the monster costume sections at any Wal-Mart.

So in order to make sense of there ideology they must create ther own fantasy world. This not only divides and polarizes ta nation it also endangers it.

Posted by notblue at 11:43 AM : Oct 26, 2007

I am a white UK born & bread and have no religious persuasion, so at least you cannot pigeon hole me into some ethnic/religious context. I am 50 years of age and am quite balanced of mind, and have always been a watcher of global politics and have quite a knowledgable background in hiatory, and finally like to add I am a person who cares about the peoples of this world, regardless of race/colour.

I wish I did live in a fantasy world but unfortunately I live is this reality, which is that we are on the brink of a global war, with the prospect of nuclear weapons being used in the Middle East, and threats of Russia & China retaliating against Western Europe & the USA. This is all on record, and if your government aka Bush & Cheney get their way this is no fantasy this is reality. How would any sane person react to the events unfolding before ones very eyes that are happening in this world today respecting the US lead alledged "war on terror".

Ah, the terror warning du jour. How long until the next one? A week seems to be the current schedule. Yes, we know there are bad guys out there. Yes, we know they are trying to kill us and our allies. What else is new? The constant attempt to use such worthless balderdash for political gain is disgusting.

zipermux is a classic example of the lunacy that present in the leftwing fringe of this country. Democracy is putting up with all opinions without threats. THe looney left has gone insane, it hates it''s own government while justifying the radical regimes andactions of there despots. The left believes there is no threat from Jihadists they are just lies by perpetrated by the government to spread fear and the atacks against the U.S. are inside jobs to justify war. If these idiots were to believe the reality and true danger of the Jihadists there cries for surrender, retreat and pascifism would be rediculous. So in order to make sense of there ideology they must create ther own fantasy world. This not only divides and polarizes ta nation it also endangers it.

What I''m going to say will fly against everything even I believe in, and might be even dangeros to say, but where is the moral courage within this world today?

I ask myself a question if I were an officer and Nazi and had close contact with Hitler would I have the moral courage to have put my life on the line and taken him out ? Sonme did try at the time, and were executed as traitors, if they had been successful today they would be martyrs.

I think we live in a time when if I had close connections to G W Bush, would I wear a pair of explosive shoes and board Air Force One along with G W Bush, leave a note for history as to why, and boom. Would that be considered a humanist thing to do? Or incitement to terrorism and in supoport of Al Qaeda. Am I going to get a knock on my door tomorrow and Guantanamo here I come? If I don''t post again on here then you''ll know where to find me.

What a dilemma this is eh !
