2 Samuel 4
9And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said unto them, As the LORD liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity,

10When one told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good tidings, I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his tidings:

11How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his bed? shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?

12And David commanded his young men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up over the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ishbosheth, and buried it in the sepulchre of Abner in Hebron.

LOOK!! TWO MEN SLAUGHTER DAVIDS ENEMY, BRING HIS HEAD TO HIM AND GAVID HAS THEIE HANDS AND FEET CUT OFF AND STRINGS THEM UP OVER A POOL!!!
WHOLE LOTTA SLAUGHTERING GOING ON IN THE BIBLE!!
THIS WAS DONE BY KING DAVID, CHRISTIANS CLAIM HE IS JESUS ANCESTOR!! HE HAD NO PROBLEMS SLAUGHTERING PEOPLE THOUGH!!!

Why anyone would want to rely on a book that is riddled with mistakes and intentional alterations is beyond me. Guys, just step out of the bible - there''s a whole new world out there. No point letting 1st century foolishness dictate 21st century living. The bible lacks compassion and that is enough reason to toss it.

It is unfortunate she was so cowardly she refused to admit to her atheism.

Only cowards speak ill of someone behind their back, mother teresa is gone and cannot defend herself. Her lifetime of helping the poor speaks volumes for her love of God and the needy

My favorite one for the Bible thumping moralists is the story of Abram prostituting his wife Sarai to the Egyptians.

That story seems to be overlooked when they busy themselves tending to other people''s "morals."

(of course, they deny what the Bible clearly says Abram did, but what else would we expect?)

Judges 14
19And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he went down to Ashkelon, and slew thirty men of them, and took their spoil, and gave change of garments unto them which expounded the riddle. And his anger was kindled, and he went up to his father''s house.

20But Samson''s wife was given to his companion, whom he had used as his friend.

LOOK!! SAMSON KILLED 30 MEN FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO ANSWER A RIDDLE!! THEN STOLE THEIR POSSESIONS AND GAVE HIS WIFE TO HIS FRIEND!!!
THIS IS AN IMMORAL BOOK!! CHRISTIANS TALK ABOUT MORALITY!!
LOOK AT THE BOOK THEY WORSHIP!! IT HAS TALES OF THE MOST IMMORAL THINGS I HAVE HEARD OF AND THEY ARE SANCTIONED BY THE LORD!!!!
SICK!!!

My grandfather was a Baptist preacher. I was a practicing Christian for more than 30 years. I''ve read the Bible more than once.

I seriously doubt you can tell me anything about the Bible, Christianity, or, related history that I do not already know.

I did not become an atheist do to ignorance or emotion. I became an atheist because there is no evidence to support any of the Bible stories, or, the claim that some imaginary entity did or does anything.

Praying to the Easter Bunny will have the exact same result as praying to any other imaginary entity.

The Bible is book of very poorly written fairy tales and legends.

Obviously, Teresa came to the same conclusion except she was a coward and continued to live a life of lies and deception.

more scriptures for bible bashers.I would love to tell you about the love of Jesus for ALL that would accept him, but unfortunatly many reject him

2The (C)tongue of the wise makes knowledge acceptable,
But the (D)mouth of fools spouts folly.
3The (E)eyes of the LORD are in every place,
Watching the evil and the good.
4A soothing tongue is a tree of life,
But perversion in it crushes the spirit.
5A fool rejects his father''s discipline,
But he who regards reproof is sensible.
6Great wealth is in the house of the (F)righteous,
But trouble is in the income of the wicked.

Psalm 14
1The fool hath said in his heart,. . .

Posted by jankebenz at 07:17 PM : Aug 26, 2007

That is a fact.

Only a fool would try to say anything in his heart, irrespective of subject matter.

The heart doesn''t say anything.

those who won''''t listen to God. . .

Posted by jankebenz at 07:08 PM : Aug 26, 2007

Perhaps God should try speaking for himself rather than relying on lunatics, liars and thieves as his spokesmen.

But, that would be hard for him to do since he (it?) does not exist.

And, why do people quote other people when they claim they are listening to or speaking for God?

The Bible was written by men claiming they spoke for God, same as lunatics, liars and thieves do today.

seems you conveniantly forgot the previous 2 verses which said that those who won''t listen to God and are hostile toward him, would be eating their childrens flesh, as in punishment in the form of famine You take bible verses out of context to suite you''re own agenda, seems you are being "hostile " oh oh

It''''s so easy to be deceived when it''''s DESIRABLE to be so.

Posted by orinvee at 05:57 PM : Aug 26, 2007

We agree.

Ever notice how "faith" is a primary requirement for anyone who intends to delude himself into believing his imaginary friends exist?

Obviously, Teresa lost her "faith" which precluded her from continuing to delude herself.

It is unfortunate she was so cowardly she refused to admit to her atheism.

33And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people.

34And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain:
