Ricky boy, my grandpa was a Baptist preacher. I was raised in a Baptist home. I learned about Baptists before I entered public school.

I haven''t been in a Baptist church in over 30 years, but it is quite obvious I''m far more familiar with Baptist doctrine than you.

It is possible you belong to one of those thousands of weirdo cults claiming to be Baptists.

Which would explain your ignorance of Baptist doctrine and practices. Baptists reject the claim that anyone has spiritual authority over anyone else.

Which means your interpretation of the Bible is totally irrelevant to anyone other than you.

That is basic Baptist doctrine.

A doctrine you clearly do not practice, as evidenced by your continued assertions that other people are not properly interpreting the Bible. You, by your claim of being a Baptist, do not have the authority to tell anyone else how to interpret the Bible.

Even to the point of rejecting it in its entirety.

Perhaps you should explore a career as a Catholic priest. They even accept atheists.

Your pastor is totally irrelevant. A Baptist pastor is equivalent to the garbage man, he has no spiritual authority over anyone.

Neither do you.

Did you know that if a person attempted to make a movie about the Bible (as it is really written), it would be rated X?

The Bible is one of the earliest known written books of pornography. Which explains why it is such a best seller.

Porn always sells. . .

DT 21:10-13 With the Lord''''s approval, the Israelites are allowed to take "beautiful women" from the enemy camp to be their captive wives. If, after sexual relations, the husband has "no delight" in his wife, he can simply let her go.

LOOK! THE LORD APPROVES KIDNAPPING AND RAPE!!

You are a Baptist, you say?

Really?

Then by what authority do you claim to be interfering with other people''s sovereignty of the soul and priesthood of the believer?

Or, is your understanding of Baptist doctrine limited to whatever you claim it to be when it suits your purpose?

Ricky boy, Baptists do not acknowledge preachers, priests or anyone else as having spiritual authority over anyone else. Perhaps you should take a refresher course in Baptist doctrine before you try explaining Baptist doctrine.

I already know that you cannot provide evidence to support your assertion your imaginary friend exists. Which means it does not exist IN FACT (key words).

I asked a dollar bill (my God) about what you said and it didn''''t say anything at all.

1 so the dollar has become your god? you know what the "love of money" results in

MT 10:34-37

34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

35For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

36And a man''s foes shall be they of his own household.

37He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

LOOK!! JESUS HAS COME TO TEAR YOUR FAMILY APART!!
HE HAS COME TO BRING THE "SWORD" AND SET FAMILY MEMBERS AGAINST EACH OTHER IN HIS OWN NAME!!!!
INCREDIBLY IMMORAL!!!

Ricky boy, while you were busying yourself worrying over my God, did you bother reading those passages condemning usury?

Sure hope you aren''t collecting or paying interest on money (usury), otherwise, you are going straight to hell. . . (so sayeth the book of pornography).

On the contrary, you and jankebenz are the ones pretending to be Gods, not I.

Given the fact God does not exist, when you claim to be telling others what God wants or demands, what you are really doing is asserting your own wants or demands.

If God wants something from me, he doesn''t need your help.

BTW, I was baptized more often than most people go to church (we moved a lot), and, according to Baptist doctrine, once saved, always saved.

Isn''t that great? I can do whatever I want and still go to heaven. . . (hmmmm...)

As I stated earlier on another post, according to the Bible, the Biblical God is a homicidal, paranoid-schizophrenic, obsessive-compulsive, psychopath. The Christian version is also suicidal.

If that''s the kind of imaginary entity you want to worship, be my guest. But, you should be thankful it does not exist.

Tucker-- good works are great but done without the love for God are of no relevance as follows

The objection has no validity. The gospel of salvation by grace shows that good works are necessary. It is true, unchangeably true, that without holiness no man shall see the Lord. "Neither adulterers, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards" shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Works are "good" only when, (1) they spring from the principle of love to God. The moral character of an act is determined by the moral principle that prompts it. Faith and love in the heart are the essential elements of all true obedience. Hence good works only spring from a believing heart, can only be wrought by one reconciled to God (Eph. 2:10; James 2:18:22). (2.) Good works have the glory of God as their object; and (3) they have the revealed will of God as their only rule (Deut. 12:32; Rev. 22:18, 19).

Good works are an expression of gratitude in the believer''s heart (John 14:15, 23; Gal. 5:6). They are the fruits of the Spirit (Titus 2:10-12), and thus spring from grace, which they illustrate and strengthen in the heart.

Good works of the most sincere believers are all imperfect, yet like their persons they are accepted through the mediation of Jesus Christ (Col. 3:17), and so are rewarded; they have no merit intrinsically, but are rewarded wholly of grace.

Jesus did not exist as depicted in the Bible. The Bible is a very poorly written book of fairy tales and legends. The essence of the Bible is pornography.

When you blather on about Jesus, you demonstrate your ignorance of the subject matter.

If you want to believe in magic blue rocks, Superman, Jesus, or any other imaginary, fictional creation, that''s your choice. And, I''m happy for you that you found the crutch you needed to help you with your disabilities.

But, I''m not similarly disabled and have no need for imaginary friends to make it through life.

favorite one for the Bible thumping moralists is the story of Abram prostituting his wife Sarai to the Egyptians.

That story seems to be overlooked when they busy themselves tending to other people''''s "morals."

(of course, they deny what the Bible clearly says Abram did, but what else would we expect?)
Posted by tuckerndfw at 07:50 PM : Aug 26, 2007

the bible says that no one is without fault ( exept Jesus ) that includes abram, you and me ,thats why Jesus came into the world to die for our sins so we can be counted righteous You claim to know the bible after 30 years as a christian but you reject the whole essence of the bible which is Jesus

We disagree regarding her cowardice.

Anyone who asserts "if there be a God" while continuing to publicly proclaim faith is a coward.

Despite all the propaganda to the contrary, doing "good works" is not unique to people who believe in imaginary friends.

Warren Buffett (atheist) and Bill Gates (cowardly atheist = agnostic) have contributed far more to helping others than any other people in history.

And, they do not rely on handouts from peasants in Mexico (other poverty laden predominantly Catholic nations) for their subsistence while they do their "good works."

Teresa''s own words (according to the story):

"Where is my faith?" she wrote. "Even deep down%u2026 there is nothing but emptiness and darkness... If there be God %u2014 please forgive me."

Anyone who says or believes "if there be a God" is an atheist.

She was demonstrably a coward due to the fact she refused to acknowledge her atheism.

There are plenty of people doing good works, most of whom do not get international publicity or support from the wealthiest organization on the planet.

A real mother trying to raise children on her three minimum wage jobs has far more courage and "faith" than Teresa. Teresa could rely on the Catholic church for her subsistence. Real mothers do not have that luxury.

Teresa was a fraud in more ways than one.

I wouldn''t call Mother Teresa a coward. She personified compassion like none of us can. It is the *** church and its iron grip on her that kept her silent all her life. She is now an inspiration to all of us non-christians. She showed us that we all have the inner strength to help humanity, and we need no direction from any external agency for that.
