Mr. Skarva is correct. I too am in the same situation. Just ask a politician what kind of health insurance he has. Its a lot better than you and I can afford. And the best part, WE pay for it. Politicians take care of their own first and foremost.

United States May Declare State of Emergency

Associated Press Writer
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) %u2013 The whitehouse government of embattled President bush said Thursday it may impose a state of emergency due to ``external and internal threats'' and deteriorating law and order.
including from Democratic presidential hopeful Barak Obama, over the possibility of U.S. military action against al-Qaida in Pakistan ``has started alarm bells ringing and has upset the Pakistani public.''
But it appeared the motivation for a declaration of an emergency would be the domestic political woes of
President bush
During a state of emergency, the government can restrict the freedom to move, rally, engage in political activities or form groups and impose other limits such as restricting congress right to make laws or even dissolving congress
``These are only unconfirmed reports although the possibility of imposition of emergency cannot be ruled out and has recently been talked about and discussed, keeping in mind some external and internal threats and the law and order situation, bush told The Associated Press.
``I cannot say that it will be tonight, tomorrow or later. We hope that it does not happen. But we are going through difficult circumstances so the possibility of an emergency cannot be ruled out,'' he added.
America television networks reported that a declaration of an emergency was imminent, but other senior government officials said no final decision had been made.

I feel for Mr.Skarva for I too, am in his situation. Just ask these politicians what kind of health care do they have. The best part is, WE pay for it and they have it the rest of their lives. Kinda sucks doesnt it, we cant afford insurance, while we end up paying for theirs.

Belive in the "Union" because if you don't you get screwed, you get screwed anyway if you don't, but not as hard.

I do not know what has happened to this country but I do know my fathers generation, the Greatest Generation, would NOT sit back and watch this happen. We have been sold out as a country by the rich and the Greedy. To be able to exploit cheep third world labor they have left American's and American Workers out in the cold. Also, in the name of Corporate Profits we allow our neighbors and fellow citizens without healt care. Don't start with this garbage of they should BUY it for themselves, those that need it CAN'T buy it because those same greedy sob's won't sell it even if these folks could pay for it. It's disgusting and a blight on this nation.

After nearly 30 years of Fascist Rule where are we? Do we see all the bright new jobs promised when they pushed through their Free Trade? Do we see American's benefiting from the massive shift of wealth when Trickle Down was put into place? Where is the America I grew up with?

Not looking good is it, millions without health protection, China about to pull the financial rug from beneath our feet and almost two years to go before we get a change in policy. Time is of the essence, we cannot wait any longer, some draconian housekeeping is desperately needed now. The current recipe is dreadful and the cook incompetent, waiting a further two years could render the inhabitants seriously under nourished and extremely ill.

The case for criminal mis-management is without doubt and should be acted upon immediately.

Having your health insurance tied to your employer is the most ridiculous system ever devised. It's something the employers themselves don't want because it raises their costs, especially for smaller businesses. It limits your job mobility; some people are afraid to change jobs because they might lose certain benefits. If you're laid off or in between jobs, you would have to pay enormous COBRA fees while your income is drastically reduced. It makes it difficult for people to retire early because they cannot afford insurance on their own, or because they can't get insurance at all if they have a pre-existing condition.

It's supposed to be better at reducing costs compared to other systems but fails completely. Year after year health costs have skyrocketed, and companies continually reduce your benefits while at the same raise your premium, deductions, copays.

In short, employer-based health insurance is an ill-conceived, broken system that needs to be done away with. All other Western industrialized countries have done it. Why can't the U.S.?
