- Only someone completely devoid of character, morals, or compassion could possibly be involved in this "sport". Michael Vick is a thug. Nothing more. All the money in the world won't change that. He needs to be banned for life, fined heavily and sent to jail. Maybe his new jail buddies will be impressed with what a "big man" he is in the dog-fighting world. To me, he is nothing more than a loser.

- I hate this happened but it's about time someone took dog fighting seriously! A few years ago, I had to impound 60 pitbulls and take the owner to court in Georgia. Even though we had all of the same evidence as here, noone took us seriously and the case was ultimately dropped. Even though the owner was an international fighter, Irish Jerry, it took Mike Vick to bring it to the forfront. Thank you Mike!

- "People" who do this are hopelessly depraved, degenerate, and dangerous. They should be castrated, so they can't reproduce, and put in prison for life. Too bad we don't have colony planets where we could send these people to protect ourselves from them.
These are my gut feelings.
My rational self knows that such behaviour is usually a sign the the perpetrator was abused as a child. If we don't protect our children, we will have to live with the eventual consequences. - Reply to this comment
- Why hasn't Vicks been suspended from the NFL yet? What does that tell you about the lack of decency or shame among the top executives of the NFL?

- His conviction won't act as a deterrant in th eslightest. Maximum penalty for him is 1 year in jail and a fine.
1 year??
Pathetic. - Reply to this comment
- I only hope that the NFL celebrity Michael Vick's is convicted, and his sentence serves as a deterent to others engaging in this vile crime. Anyone participating in this kind of recreation/behavior has absoulutely no conscience or empathy toward life. Vicks deserves the maximum sentence for his sociopathic behavior.

- According to his indictment, Vick's pit bulls were summarily executed after losing fights. Vicks and his buddies would kill the dogs by 'hanging, drowning and slamming at least one dog's body to the ground'. The matter could not be any more clear cut to me - this guy should be cut from the Falcons, suspended by the NFL, every one of his sponsors should drop this loser immediately and he should be behind bars.

- A story that is not being covered here, is that of *** fighting. It is just as rampant as the dog fighting, and even more in the open. Yet, I don't see anything being done about this cruel game either. I think it also needs to be said that what punishments does exist for these type of sports is relatively minor.

Hey--you all at CBS, Thank you!
Insofar as deviant savagery, don't we make our 4-legged "brothers" appear relatively tame??
This is probably as bad as it can/will ever get--there's just! no where to go from here but up.
We NEED!!! to keep the pressure up & Disincentives STRONG.
