Hmm...what year was it that the city of Atlantis sunk? If only these idiots could put all their efforts towards, lets see...improving education in this country, or....the list goes on.

Some years ago the government spent billions moving electrical lines because some scientist(s) said it was hurting the diary cows and interfering with milk production.

Turned out to be a hoax.

Y2K ...another really stupid hoax and really intelligent people fell for it and spent millions doing something that meant nothing with their computers.

Get a life.

I heard this similar *** in the 1970's, when all the
Liberal NeoCommies were WHINING about "GLOBAL COOLING".

I still have National Geographic's from the 1970's that has articles about "global cooling"

The same rhetoric existed then as it does today,
and it goes like this:

"Global Cooling is going to destroy the earth,
and it's America's fault".

Not much has changed in the last 30 years, EXCEPT, it's now "global warming" instead of "global cooling", but it's still the USA's fault according to these liberal idiots!!!

STOP GLOBAL WHINING,
STOP GLOBAL WHINING,

HEY,HEY,HO,HO, GLOBAL WHINING HAS GOT TO GO.
HEY,HEY,HO,HO, GLOBAL WHINING HAS GOT TO GO.

If you NeoCommies think I'm being ridiculous
with the above chants,
CONGRATULATIONS, you get my point

Global Warming? Global C R A P !! It is change, a similar change to what the Earth has experienced for many thousands of years. It has however triggered the greedy amongst us to capitalise and line their pockets, peddling scare stories and pandering to the prophets of Doom merchants. The Flim Flam men are having a field day as are many institutions and universties worldwide who are raking in massive research grants. It is also a fact that the established industrial nations are using it as an excuse to hold back both India and China, imposing regulation which will force up their over heads and final pricing. It is a SCAM

"slightly" is all it takes to melt glaciers and the antarctic ice sheets which in turn exposes more darker surface areas (than reflective white snow/ice) which absorb more UV from the sun which accelerates the process even more.
Ice only has to go from 32 degrees to 32.5 degrees to melt away.

" No real scientific data can support that it is caused by mankind."

Maybe, but photos don't lie, there's plenty of web sites showing historic and contemporary photos of snow capped mountains and the extent of glaciers and pole ice sheets, and when compared old with new the change is obvious- formerly snowcapped mountains that had snow year-round for all of recorded history are now bare or nearly so, glacier ice photographed in various locations by tourists and scientists 50-60 years ago when seen beside modern photos show the ice has drastically retreated- exposing valleys and land never seen before.
Its obvious there is a major change happening and it's started, can be measured chemically (carbon dioxide in ice cores etc) and visually since the 19th century industrial revolution, and sped up rapidly in the last 20 ~ years

Why is this news? Global warming has been going on for thousands of years...at least since the last ice age. North America would still be under a couple miles of glaciers, otherwise.
Venice has always been sinking. It is built on a muddy marsh. Many houses there have dozens of layers of floors built up over hundreds of years to prove that. Recent preservation efforts made building up the stuctures a no no to keep the historic structures unchanged. Therefore, buildings are sinking as they always have.

Old monuments being subject to the ravages of time and the weather is nothing new....

Its called....ENTHROPY!

"Global Warming May Threaten Civilization's Future" was the "abstract" to this "scientific report." What does it mean? Does it mean that this most recent study concluded that Global Warming may HARM civilization's future? Does it mean that this most recent study concluded that Global Warming will definitely THREATEN civilization's future? No. It's doubly weasled.

If this were a scientific report, then we should understand that this particular scientist was not certain that "Global Warming" would not "threaten" civilization's future

So now we are supposed to be motivated by someone's professed ignorance about the usefullness of climate models. And anyone who is not convinced by this profession of ignorance can be accused of "hiding his head in the sand" from known facts.

Face it. This "new international study" is not science. It is political propaganda. (Like most official "Global Warming" pronouncements)

If it gets too hot, it's global warming. If it gets too cold, it's global warming. Really hard to take ALGore and the other yahoos seriously.

One of my very good friends is a meteorologist with the national weather service over in St. Louis. Unfortunately, as does most everything these days, positions fall along political lines.

Bottom line: Flawed computer models, flawed data, flawed conclusions.....the climate is changing slightly. No real scientific data can support that it is caused by mankind.

Read it and weep.
