veryrose you are absolutely correct, its much better that 10s of thousands of people were dragged away every year and tortured and murdered by saddams henchmen, and that kurds were gassed by the hundreds and thousands.... way better than it is now.

Where do you get your information?

Nobody is diminishing what horrible conditions exist now in Iraq for anyone, but as another Bush puke reduces the Abu-Ghraib and Iraqi child rape atrocities to media "frenzies", we can see again what sociopathic criminals they really are... And there is little voluntary "sacrifice" from the American military. Most of them take more benefit out of a high-risk job than they would get otherwise.

Its funny listening to people who's only education on what is happening in Iraq is from the liberal bias media - yes its unfortunate that all the news outlets have their own agendas and cannot keep that out of the "news"

But people the American men and women in Iraq are not monsters, they are your friends and neighbors here in the states (that goes for you as well Britons)They are by and large honorable people who are doing the job that both the American AND British government asked them too on behalf of the VAST majority of the people... people nowadays are so short sighted and have such short attention spans that if they dont get immediate results they get angry. Believe me they are doing good, keeping the fight out of our great country. The first time Muslim extremists attack a school full of children (yes that is most likely the next place they will try to attack our country, its been proven historically) and hundreds of childrens corpses are being photographed by the media in body bags (any one remember Breslan, yea it was a training op for Al Qaida to do the same in the USA/GB?)you will remember what Global War on Terror is all about.

What I'd like to know is, why is it that when someone demands the Bush people be held accountable to their own actions, then all of a sudden that someone is "evil" and "hateful"? Grow up America!

why is it that no matter how obvious the facts are, like that life under saddam was better in almost every respect than under george bush, in the minds of bush supporters, those facts are always superceded by their god-given right to %u201Ccivilize%u201D the %u201Csand *******%u201D.

someone said, "how dare you people try to make something so terrible out to be about president bush and politics."

why do you think this story saturated the american media, but didn't get much play in iraq, or even in the international press until later? it's because it's bush's political and military propaganda, you dumbsh1t.

Seems I'm not the only one to smell a rat. I'm sorry if I seem sceptical but the US Gov and US Army are not exactly noted for their honesty.

One suggestion. There seems to be quite a bit of finger pointing and violent wishes already. More evil will not turn previous evil into good but actual good deeds- which are different than hateful or condemning words %u2013 will. Peace. jats28

Some of the child victims in the American concentration camps are apparently as young as 14, they have no legal representation, some have been there for 3 years or more and have not been charged or confessed to any crimes despite the torture.

I posted a link from the UN yesterday which concerned the treatment of orphans, the mentally ill etc under the Saddam period from 2001 and apparently they had the best social service, medical care in the Middle East. I do wish Americans would try and stop simply inventing myths simply to try and hide their own guilt. Abu Graib and Guantanamo are not isolated examples and without video evidence made by perverts even those would still be denied today.
Frankly I distrust the US Government to the extent that I suspect this could well be another Jessica Lynch type scam.

Our 21c. society sure has taught us to compare apples to oranges.

Comparing the orphanage to Guantanamo is ludicrous. 16 year-olds should be interrogated if they are combatant fighters! These are special needs children, AND they're how Saddam's regime has trained the Iraqi society to treat those under its power.

Evil people exist everywhere, including in America, and in Iraqi. The people who read this article and can only say, "American troops are hypocrites and killing innocent people too," totally misses the point and have lost their more noble human instincts regarding good and evil.

American troops have been vilify enough with media frenzy over Abu Ghraib and the more recent rape case of the 14-yo. How many outstanding servicemen and servicewomen are there right now, sacrificing their comforts and potentially their life (or an arm or a leg) for what they believe is for the best of the world, including the people of Iraqi? This story has a few of them in it. Respect that!

Quote "Bush supporters have less moral judgment than a pig."

That's very unkind, I quite like pigs and they are reputed to be intelligent.

Quote "The bottom line here is that innocent children were tortured!!! Show some compassion!"

Yes of course, I suppose unless they are being held in an American concentration camp such as Guantanamo?

http://news.independent.co.uk/world/americas/article620704.ece

The US military has admitted that children aged 16 years and younger are among the detainees being interrogated at its prison camp in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

This story makes me very proud of our troops, and it makes it that much harder for me to read about the 14 soldiers we lost in 48 hours. May God protect our most important resource - our men and women in uniform.

What is this world coming to. Thank God for these soldiers that found these kids, the children and soldiers will be in my prayers. To the soldiers, please continue to fight for those who can't fight for themselves and God bless you.

friends these are very superficial comments, both bush supporters and bush opposers. The real problem is not saving 24 children or going to iraq to rape thousands of more children. These are all plays to keep us on the top of the iceberg. Why are the troops still there? What is the next step of all this huge plan? Have you ever thought about it?
unfortunately the ordinary citizens always stay on the light topic, and the strategical steps are planned by the big fish, a handful of people.

As the truth indicates, most mental midgets ignore 99% of the facts so they can try to use the remaining 1% as proof that the truth is a lie.

So be it written...

Actually, the only pig here is you.

You have gaul to ignore whatever sounds like something is actually going right in Iraq, and insult everyone who applauded it.

Thats cheap. Not quite as cheap as the pork in the earmarks the Demoncratic congress pushed on that last bill Bush Veto'ed.
