CBS: Iranian Efforts To Enrich Uranium Are Progressing Despite Covert Efforts To Disrupt Program
- If the USA was trying to do as told, why tell it?This whole thing seems like childhood pranks, leaking some news, denying the leaked news ever existed, etc., etc,. Do we ( USA ) think our enemy can not see through these antics? We trained Osama Bin Laden (sp), we provided weapons of war to include land mines etc., etc.,so Afghanistan could vanquish the USSR. They learned well, as did Iran, Iraq and others. Now what do we (USA) look like in the eyes of the world? We snivel openningly when our tactics are used against us while most of the world breaks out in loud laughs from deep in the belly, knowing these facts. We need to get a new script writer with new script if we are going to look credulous in the eyes of the world ever again. GWB has used up all of the old.

Iran's secret plan for summer offensive to force US out of Iraq
Iran is secretly forging ties with al-Qaida elements and Sunni Arab militias in Iraq in preparation for a summer showdown with coalition forces intended to tip a wavering US Congress into voting for full military withdrawal, US officials say.
"Iran is fighting a proxy war in Iraq and it's a very dangerous course for them to be following. They are already committing daily acts of war against US and British forces," a senior US official in Baghdad warned. "They [Iran] are behind a lot of high-profile attacks meant to undermine US will and British will, such as the rocket attacks on Basra palace and the Green Zone [in Baghdad]. The attacks are directed by the Revolutionary Guard who are connected right to the top [of the Iranian government]."

- Anyone who thinks this story if fake is an idiot.
Anyone who thinks that CBS is hurting national security is an idiot.
Iran is foolish. They are muppets. Look at what they are doing. They defy the whole world and claim "Jihad". Sounds like suicide to me.
If they want the 72 virgins or whatever the hell the # is, let them have their lovefest. I've got at the very least five reasons:
1) They supply weapons and explosives to kill US Soldiers in IRAQ.
2) They are attempting to develop nuclear weapons.
3) Ahmadinajad is the Hitler of our time.
4) They contribute nothing to the world except for oil and death.
5) They don't drive any Toyota Priuses so they surely are a contributor of Global Warming. (I threw one in there for you liberals)
Thank you and have a nice day! - Reply to this comment
- WHO CAN DENY THE FACT THAT THE WORLD NEEDS POLICEMEN? DENYERS OF THE HOLOCAUST, THAT'S WHO. I STAND BY MY PRESIDENT AND OUR SOLDIERS. THE INTENTIONS OF PRESIDENT TOM ARE NOT FOR THE GOOD OF HIS PEOPLE. HIS IS A MERE POWER-MONGER AND SHOULD DEVOTE HIS COUNTRIES RESOURCES TO BETTER THE QUALITY OF IRANIANS' LIVES. INSTEAD, HE EXEMPLIFIES EVIL BY PREACHING HATE, CONTROLLING THEIR MEDIA, AND MURDERING THOSE WHO PROMOTE FREEDOM. ARMS CONTROL IN A NO-BRAINER. SUPERPOWERS ALREADY EXIST, AND WILL DEFEND THOSE WHO ARE DESERVING. TOM WILL BE TAKEN DOWN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. THE SOONER THE BETTER. I AM GLAD MY COUNTRY IS STANDING UP TO OPPRESSORS OF FREEDOM.

- People, people...sheesh, think for a second. This information gets "leaked" for a reason. No CBS treason here or whatever you accuse them of. If you accuse them of ANYthing it is aiding our beloved USA. How? By publishing the "leaked" information that hopefully slows down the process of Iran's persuit of nuclear weapons.
Leaking information about potential sabotage will either make them rethink or mistrust their black market contacts. Their processes will take much longer as they will have to really think twice or more before actually doing business and then still they wouldn't know if the materials they bought could be trusted. - Reply to this comment

- I am in no ivory tower, and am certainly capable of being misled, as well. However, this story in particular just seems to be so obviously either 1. misinformation or 2. completely harmless information at this point, that I felt obliged to comment. I'm really at a loss to explain to myself how so many people can jump to such insane conclusions.

- Barbary: What on Earth are you talking about? Have you not read the article? High level assets killed? The article explicitly states that these deals are done within the black market and that neither side generally knows who they're dealing with. I think you're grossly overestimating the intelligence-gathering capabilities of CBS if you think they are privvy to some "NOC List" or some other spy film fantasy you've dreamed up. Calm down. As others have pointed out, misinformation is a part of the sabotage campaign as well.

- I could be wrong here, but does it seem to anyone else that there seems to be an unusual amount of leaks to the MSM. I can see the Bush haters that work for the government or on staff's of members of Congress leaking. But to think that the MSM would be trying to undermined the Bush Administration or this Country is a stretch.

- Why would anyone assume that what you're reading here is anything even close to the truth??????????? Even knowing that the vast majority of you are completely ignorant of the way things work, it still manages to surprise me you can really believe that CBS News' website is somehow revealing to you some bit of "priveleged" information...
