Most of the illegal Mexican's in this country do not have any desire to become a part of this country! That isn't why they are here! They are here to make enough money to send back to Mexico so their relative's can live! In fact, some live here for years before returning to Mexico to retire there. So, what good is imposing fines and allowing them to become citizen's! All they will do is the same thing they have been doing for years, live outside the radar of the law. I agree with Ted Kennedy on most of the issues. But, this is one I don't! I am like most American's on the issue! They have come into the country illegal and should proscuted! If they aren't our laws mean nothing to anyone! They are breaking the law...end of story! We have given them amnesty 7 times now since 1980's! It hasn't worked. They keep coming in droves. Something constructive needs to be done to cure the problem! But, there ideas is not it!

You want to stop it? there is only one way. Hunt them down and murder every one of them and shoot them on sight at the border. Do you seriously want to be a part of that, because nothing short of that will work?

sillady33 - our corporations also offshore jobs to countries with appalling piracy rates. Why do we reward criminals with jobs that allow them to circumvent code meant to stop them from pirating? (Anyone with a brain knows they will not kill their own "cash cow".)

Again, I wish Dems and Repubs would get together to fix America. And stop helping illegal sleaze and people in other countries who sure as h*ll wouldn't otherwise give a d*mn about us. Are Americans, particularly the middle class who have to take the brunt of tax costs so worthless?

WAKE UP, FOLKS...!!!
Write to Congress and tell them not to give amnesty to hardcore criminals and drug-peddlers.. The consequences will be DEVASTATING to say the least.. Imagine, once these bastar*ds become legal citizens and are caught committing crimes, they'll end up in prisons which are already overcrowded.. These scum bags are willing to kill at the drop of a hat.. Remember.. they have nothing to lose.. They would rather spend the rest of thier lives behind bars than go back to Mexico.. And we tax payers get the bill for their stay in prison..

PLEASE DO SOMETHING BEFORE ITS TOO LATE.. All it takes Congress is a couple of hours debate to finalize such a bill and have Dumb Dubya sign it, and BOOM.. It becomes law.. And there's nothing you and me can then do about it.. REMEMBER..!!! ITS OUR KIDS FUTURE AT STAKE HERE..

It is bothersome that the US government will seek to include illegal immigrants and provide for them when they have clearly broke the laws of the US. They should all be deported and required to take the steps necessary to work, go to school, and/or live in the US. The people we vote into office, is responsible to the law abiding US citizens and to protect the interest of those people. Resources in our country are already running low, we have citizens living without housing, medical, jobs, education, etc. Lets concentrate on helping OUR CITIZENS before we open the doors to those who side step the laws and demand to be a part of our country.

Had a friend from England, was not born here, but raised here from a very early age. When he was around 30, Immigration arrested him and held him pending deportation. Only thing that saved him was that he had been married to an American for several years. I went through Junior High and High School with this person. Where is his amnesty?

Aw, cmon, get real. Most of the vegetables you eat are because your kids won't pick em. Look at who's working construction. The only thing I think that illegals shouldn't be able to do, once they register, is avail themselves of services without paying for it. Without illegal aliens in this country, our economy would collapse. I can't wait til somebody realizes in this country that the terrorism risk is the same post 911 as before. Why all the fear, folks?

ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL, if someone is in this country illegally they need to be deported.

The one positive thing about this is the Dems and Repubs are working "together" to get something done. Perhaps if the Dems and Repubs would work "together" more often alot more would actually get done.

Truly amazing! What will be the cost to the hard working American Citizens? Social Security- Bankrupt! Health Care-totally unaffordable! Education-scrapped so as to "teach" illegals and their children! Crime-rampant! Drugs-everywhere!
