Credit where credit due.

At least you are not abusive,as are many others, thanks for that, it shows you may well be capable of presenting a rational argument, pity you have it so wrong.

However can not agree with you.

Cane killed Abel and if I have the story right, he did not use a firearm.

Humans are emotional people however our creator provided a 'Free Will' and an 'intellect' too. Some people over react with emotions and blame firearms while others use their head and realize firearms was not the instrument of murder - rather a human heart in that a misguided heart acting upon a free will.

Our culture of death has lost intellect, become blind to the truth, and lack common sense. Many wish to ban prayer in public settings but every time something of this magnitude occurs prayer is openly acceptable and encouraged. If we do not learn from mistakes then we are prone to repeat them.

My heart and prayers for the victims and their families. May God have Mercy on the killer too.

yes - I am a law abiding Christian NRA member, no punt liberals.

That was supposed to be a joke, right?

I live in Texas and have owned firearms since I was about 12 years old. I recall the days when a "real Texan" drove a pickup with at least one rifle in the back window.

But, I don't seem to recall anyone using their firearms to gun down kids at schools, or people at the shopping mall, cafe, etc.

I do recall families occasionally getting into "shooting scrapes," but they were usually non-fatal and restricted to their own property.

Gun control advocates appear to be people who were raised in apartments and fed a steady diet of tv for their education about firearms in the real world.

rheola,

It would seem that someone in your family failed in their duty to pass such wisdom and pride on to you...

"Iceman, jimibear, tucker - come and take my guns whenever you feel frisky." Posted by MityWhity at 05:39 PM : Apr 17, 2007

I'll be right there. Keep the light on. Put a pot of coffee on.

But according to the rules of chivalry and knightly behavior, since you issued the challenge, I choose the weapons.

Boxcutters at 200 paces.

"It is a fact that illegal drug possession, usage and manufacture have been unaffected by "drug laws."

You cannot refute that because it is a fact."

I am not trying to refute that. Drug laws are not under discussion here. You are using a straw man argument to try to make me defend a position I never took. Knock it off, and let me get to re-posting the points I already made because you are too *** lazy to read back.

Last summer I traveled extensively in the North Eastern U.S. Every time I was searched while entering a restricted historical site they all got really excited when I pulled out my trusty 3-blade Case XX pocket knife! The got even more excited when my kids handed over their pocket knives! I got the biggest kick out of the look on their faces and the predictable statement, "You carry a knife?". I had even more fun replying, "dosen't everyone?".

"The U.S. can not banned guns because there are too many either own by the population or criminals. Also you have large numbers of retailers and quite a few gun manufactures employing lots of people. Billions would have to be spend to payoff the sellers and manufacturers of guns. The U.S. goverment can not legislate gun control because I believe that is a state issue. The U.S. will have to live with these tragedies. Period. Americans have to face the fact that they created the circumstances for people to kill each other very easily with guns. It is a matter of time before a jihadist attacks using guns purchased at a Walmart or gun store.

MAc, I am very much afraid you are right. The NRA is like George Bush with Iraq; their blind adherence to the 2nd amendment has created a culture of gun violence, and now they insist we need to perpetuate the cycle in order to control it. Bush has done the same thing; created a disaster and says, "Well, look at this mess! We can't leave now!"

I guess none of them has ever heard that insanity is the process of doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results.

Crimes like this are usually stopped when a good guy with a gun arrives and takes action. Unfortunately, the university banned all good guys with guns from the campus.

I guess the "No Guns Allowed" signs weren't big enough or written in bright enough letters.

And you really should learn that your calling something a fact doesn't make it so. That's called delusional projection, just so you know.

You cannot refute that because it is a fact.

Obviously, you describe your own condition if you argue otherwise.

Iceman, jimibear, tucker - come and take my guns whenever you feel frisky. Do you want my address? Ever hear of Kennesaw, GA? WE HAVE TO OWN A GUN - it's the local ordinace - at least one gun per house and that the law! We don't call each other out in the streets at high noon though.

"My children use and operate REAL, LOADED, FULLY FUNCTIONAL FIREARMS!

I haven't been locked up yet!

In fact the local Fish and Wildlife Law Enforcement encourage this type of activity!

Did I mention that my youngest children are 9 years old. They also have a legal hunting license!"

That statement must make a lot of people so very sad and worried.

What hope of sanity is there, when such insanity is passed from one generation to the other.

"jimibear'
you are sounding more and more like IQ idiot.
Your common sense is being chocked off by your your anal sphinter. It's the deffective person, not the gun.

CBSE3, you never sounded like anything other than an idiot, and a poorly educated one at that. Yes, a defective (one 'f", btw)person is dangerous. A defective with a gun is exponentially (that means 'a lot') more dangerous.

I guess you'd know all about defectives and anal sphincters, wouldn't you? How is it that my advocating a position and citing facts and figures to back it up is a sign of lack of common sense, while your mis-spelling NRA propaganda is not?

You wouldn't say that if you had seen the check I sent to the IRS yesterday, but...

Much as I hate to admit it, you do have a point.

I get on these silly forums and fritter the whole day away, when I could have been doing something productive.

You aren't dealing with facts.

Federal law currently prohibits selling firearms to insane people (and lots of other people on their can't buy list). Insane people are prohibited from possessing or owning firearms.

Not enforcing the law is a good reason for not supporting even more laws that won't or can't be enforced.

Tucker, if it's too much trouble for you to scroll back and look for my posts, you must be very lazy and not at all confident in your arguments. Most of the relevant posts are in the last 5 pages or so. Fine, though, I will cater to you. Let me find the various posts for you. Shall I wipe you as well, while I'm at it?
