If the Afagies did Sept 911,I could understand getting even--by blasting them and teaching them a good lesson. But why occupying it ,along with our zealot Nato boys. What is Afagistan so important ? Why did Russia have in mind and why did the west fund the Tellabond with money arms and CIA spies to overthrow-Russia. It seams---like a robber gets away with the loot and croock robs the robber.
Sept 911 was not done by Arabs -you fools. Hello Marvin Bush--I hope you and your Bush clan rot in Hell !

I think that,President W. Bush (Junior)has no other choice but increasing U.S. forces, specially weapons and financial help, for Afghanistan; not only to fight Al quayeda which is vital for the world's security, but also to stop other regional powers of their ambitions for the oil and gaz of this country!

nynative1340,

Re: "However, unless all or a large majority refuse, those few who might refuse are waging a lost cause and will suffer greatly. That's the way it is and it's sad."

Indeed it is. Well, you have to start somewhere. The first commisioned officer to refuse faces his Court Martial on February 5. I plan to go to Ft. Lewis in support.

Re: "It would be great if an active duty general stood up and said "This is stupid. Let's get outta here." That would make a very big point and he would pay a much smaller penalty than an enlisted person who refused to fight."

Agreed. Do we have any with that kind of courage?

Take care, nynative1340, and sleep well.

You're preaching to the choir, feelfree1. I felt from day one that this was a right-wing conspiracy, a scam to get us to support Bush & Co's far-fetched lies. The way he got us into this war is criminal and they should pay the price.

I also thought from day one that this would be another Vietnam, and we would be 'run out' with our tails tucked between our legs. Sadly it's coming to that and I hope someone with the power realizes it and gets us out before it happens.

I think this war was an 'unlawful order' and anyone who refuses to go has a right to disobey the unlawful order. However, unless all or a large majority refuse, those few who might refuse are waging a lost cause and will suffer greatly. That's the way it is and it's sad.

It would be great if an active duty general stood up and said "This is stupid. Let's get outta here." That would make a very big point and he would pay a much smaller penalty than an enlisted person who refused to fight.

It's late and I'm outta here, feelfree1. After 28 years in the military and over 20 years working in the aerospace industry, I still have to work, thanks to Reagan. Reagan really scr*ewed the career military person back in the '80s. But that's another story. Search on 'USFSPA' on Yahoo or Google.

T_Barr,

Re: "Every once in a while I stop and wonder what would have happened if we would have invaded Afghanistan before a 911 type attack."

Well, the Project for a New American Century geniuses figured that it was going to be a tough sell, "absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event%u2014like a new Pearl Harbor.%u201D

Boy did they get lucky, or what?

Every once in a while I stop and wonder what would have happened if we would have invaded Afghanistan before a 911 type attack. After all, before 911, we had planned to invade Afghanistan and chase Bin Laden and the Taliban around. How many of you know about that? That was back when the Taliban had destroyed all the Poppy fields and refused to accept the offer from the oil companies to build a pipeline across the country. The Taliban wanted more money. The oil companies and their American backers didn't want to pay that much. So, we developed plans to attack them. Links;

I don't suppose very many people know about this. It raises all sorts of questions, like, if Bin Laden was responsible for 911, maybe he did it in response to the pending American attack? I say 'if' because no one, including the FBI has any evidence that Bin Laden was responsible for 911. He has repeatedly denied it. I just wonder how long the American people would have allowed our forces to remain in Afghanistan if 911 hadn't have happened. Of course, it did happen, and now the pipeline is being built, it appears we're there for the duration, and the Poppy fields are flourishing once again. But sometimes I just wonder...

nynative1340,

Re: "I used to back the Israelis, but after getting further into what the media doesn't print, I see that they are the blockade to peace in the middle east."

I think that many of us are coming to learn this.

Good evening.

nynative1340,

The very nature of the Iraq war is criminal, and the conduct of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars of choice has been often criminal as well.

Participation in war crimes may also "ruin their chances for a fruitful life".

Those who resist participation in the Bush regime crimes are our greatest military heroes, in my opinion, and they best honor their sworn oath to our Constitution.

"It seems that the U.S. tries not to overtly attack countries that can defend themselves, these days."

Right on, feelfree1!

My statement about sending troops into Pakistan was a 'tongue in cheek' statement.

Yeah, Israel is another problem. They wouldn't be much of a problem if we didn't give them $10 million a day to kill Palestinians and commit human rights violations against both Christians and Palestinians. I used to back the Israelis, but after getting further into what the media doesn't print, I see that they are the blockade to peace in the middle east.

They do have a great 'anti-RPG tand' though.
