Vitamins and Minerals in pill and tablet form have less absorbancy! This is fact! There is newer science and medical based TECHNOLOGY that includes minerals that are 4 times smaller than a human red bloodcell! Its amazing and you can see it at repairedcell dot com and garyhundley dot com. Check it out and see what you think. This is a PHARMACEUTICAL GRADE and made in an FDA inspected CLASS 10,000 clean room facility. I ask Katie Couric to address such to creat a fair and balanced news story.

What really irks me is that nothing was mentioned about adverse reaction to prescription drugs. Somewhere between 100,000 and 200,000 people DIE each year from prescription drugs. That puts the your stats on supplements in perspective. Several prescriptions did nothing for my GERD, but 2 months taking a tablespoon of vinegar a day cured me. Think about this: An executive in a pharmaceutical company has a fiduciary duty to his/her stockholders to maximize profit. Therefore, consider this scenario: He/she has two teams working on a cure for disease X (doesn't matter whxich disease, choose your own) One finds a CURE for the disease, it will take one dose to cure each person, and is inexpensive to produce and bring to market. Another team finds a treatment that will have to be taken 4 times a day for the rest of the patient's life, but is expensive to produce. The executive has a fiduciary duty to his/her stockholders to go with the most profitable course of action. He/she literally cannot take the moral course to rid humanity of this disease when the more profitable action is to "treat" the symptoms. It is no accident that no major disease has been cured since polio. It is all about profit, and that is why capitalism has no place in the health care industry. And I consider myself a steadfast capitalist, owning two businesses in two different industries.

This kind of sophomoric reporting is not helpful. The reasons that many supplements are not effective are twofold: sub-standard potency and sub-clinical dosages. If usage of supplements are carefully researched and supervised by a doctor who practices integrated medicine (i.el, one who uses both conventional and alternate medical treatments), the outcome can be measured scientifically.

With the help of my GP, I've successfully replaced potentially-risky statins for treating moderately-high serum cholesterol with a safe natural alternative. Likewise, with the supervision of my urologist, I've replaced Flomax (which resulted in sustained arrhythmia and dizziness) taken for prostate problems with a clinically-proven natural alternative -- not the recently discredited saw palmetto. Both of my doctors are pleasantly surprised and are recommending these supplements to patients with similar problems.

Has the FDA ever evaluated ANY herb or supplement that they found to be helpful in the treatment or prevention of ANY disease or illness........???? I'll just step over here to the side and wait the deluge of responses.

Nature Has Been Ambushed

America leads the world in nutrient-depleted soil. This fact has been quietly known for decades. Even the U.S. government in U.S. Senate Document 264 from the 74th Congress in 1936 stated:

"99% of the American people are deficient in minerals... The alarming fact is that foods, fruits, vegetables and grains now being raised on millions of acres of land no longer contain enough certain needed minerals and are starving us, no matter how much of them we eat."

At the Earth Summit Statistics meeting in 1992, experts revealed information conclusively showing that farmlands in North America were 85% micronutrient depleted.

In 2002, leading medical researchers and clinicians recommended that every American use a daily multi-nutrient supplement to address the health dilemma of nutritionally poor diets (Journal of the American Medical Association, June 2002).

Why doesn't Hurley check into some of the proven 'life saving' procedures like chemotherapy and radiation? Check and see what they call 'a cure'. How about FIVE years-gee, I don't know, but even with the new math, I don't find that very encouraging. The bottom line is that the pharmaceutical companies are calling the shots and want their billion dollar industry and interests protected. Does anyone believe that anyone is REALLY looking for a cancer cure??? If you are so naive, I would like to sell you some grazing land 'just east of Miami Beach'. WAKE UP AMERICA !!! You've been scammed and it continues.
I was told two years ago to get my cancer cut, burned or radiated or that I would be in 'serious trouble'. Sorry FDA, AMA and pharmaceutical lobbies-WITHOUT your drugs and poisons, my cancer is doing quite nicely. I've been using nothing but supplements, herbs and have altered my diet to include healthier items and I feel GREAT. Now, I'm only running three miles a day and lifting thousands (aggregate) of pounds of weights daily, but I know I can improve on this without chemo. So, take your scare tactics and shove 'em!!!!!

I was horrified by the story about Sue Gilliatt having her nose burned off by bloodroot paste! So I did some research on her via "Google".

There is an interesting story about her at website location:

http://cancerx.org/Gilliatt_dismisses_claim.html

It lists dates, court cases, plaintiffs, etc. and the overall story is that she was seeking 80 million dollars and got caught lying. She admitted in court that she cut her own nose off with a pair of scissors.

I don't know what or who to believe anymore!!

Ever heard of Doctor Linus Pauling!? The only man to win two individual Nobel Prizes. One for his medical research and one for his peace efforts!

Guess what he did the last 30 years of his life! He researched supplementation and founded the Linus Pauling Institute in Oregon to carry on his legacy! He believed in a good supplement totally .

In reference to this comment:
After reading the comments, it is clear to me that the main side effect of herbs, supplements, etc. is damage to the logic centers of the brain.

What a bunch of morons.

Has anyone else noticed a trend on this site. The people who are advocating supplement use all have facts, figures, studies, and scientific information to back up their view points. The people who believe all supplements are harmful and believed the news cast have used words like "morons" and "snake oil". Just wondering if this had caught anyone else's attention.

Well here we go again! I have watched less and less news because of their biased reporting and it looks like nothing has changed!

So why have millions of people all over the world turned to healing themselves thru better eating, exercise, drinking pure water and supplementing with a good nutritional supplement!

Two reasons! First because they have had very bad results from the medical profession and the overload of drugs that make them dependent and their quality of life decreases with each use. Second because the alternative health methods work and we all have testimonials to its affect both in how we feel and all the scientific medical tests that that we used to fail but now pass with flying colors!

Why didn't they have any of us on for testimonials?

Gee I wonder who has all the adds on TV . Drugs companies!

Why wasn't this study mentioned
The Journal of the American Medical Association - http://jama.ama-assn.org/cgi/content/abstract/287/23/3116

Health and welleness is the fastest growing industry and soon to be the largest in the world. Gee maybe it is because most of the companies and products work!

Please balance your reporting because there are people out there who believe everything you say and will never have the chance that we have had of better health because you scared them off of any supplements out there!

Shame on you!
