- Cain's plan has no payroll deductions or means of funding Social Security and Medicare. On his website he says state and city governments, charities and churches should provide for the aged. So his plan is to abolish Social Security and Medicare. Good luck with that.

- America's budget defecit is simply not going to be able to be closed without a tax increase. Can't do it just by cutting unless you know how to cut 40% of the budget. Raising taxes on the middle and lowere income classes will hurt the economy. Also it increases tha burden on lot of people who are struggleing to make ends meet now. Heck, with a 9 perecent national sales tax, I won't be able to make rent! I think this is a bad idea.

- The Tax Policy Center needs to check with Mr Cain, last week he clarified this and stated food, normal clothing and basic necessities would be exempt from the sales tax. He also stated the the 9% flat income tax would start on income above the poverty level thus the poor would not be taxed at all. This is just an attempt to target Mr Cain as he is rising in the polls. The Tax Policy Center would be out of business if we eliminate the IRS and all the thousands of pages of tax laws.

- Making the middle class pay more in taxes and the wealthy pay less will move us farther away from my father's America. Spending will go for necessities only. The economy will stagnate or decline more.
Henry Ford paid his factory workers more than the going wage, so they could buy his car.
Ordinary people need money and jobs. The wealthy have had an easy ride for the last decade. Herman Cain doesn't need to make it easier. - Reply to this comment
- Oh it adds up all right. My Social Security would disappear and my pension would be taxed at 9%. My cost of maintaining myself in my home would rise due to taxes on everything which would by my calculation leave me with a negative cash flow of approximately $500.00 a month. Eating used food would help some, but still would only drop the negative flow about $200.00 a month. Way to go Cain.

- You have GOT to be kidding, right? Jeeesh, what a morooon... and I have no doubt some idiots would even vote for it... cuz it's "easy". I have a better 9-9-9 plan: Everything in our country will be $9.99. All wages will be $9.99. Now, EVERYTHING is equal. Now you know how much gas will cost. But then again, so will your car. and how easy would it be to remember? Well, there ya go... elect me President. Thank you very much! I'm here all week! Try the Veil. (It's only.....)

- Cain's plan isn't for real. That's why he's been hiding the numbers. He's juiced the numbers, particularly estimating more than $9 trillion dollars in business profit! 9 TRILLION. That's how he makes the numbers balance. The plan is a fraud, and so is Cain. http://moderatepoli.blogspot.com/2011/10/9-9-9-doesnt-equal-plan.html

- Herman cain is a joke candidate being propped up by the GOP leadership to dilute t conservative vote. Ron Paul is the only candidate with the experience and knowledge needed to fix this economy. There is a reason Ron Paul keeps winning Christian conferences, it's because he is a real conservative unlike Herman cain.

- Of course it adds up. Tax cuts for the greedy; tax hikes for the needy. It will decimate the middle class.
But then Cain wants to turn this country into another Nigeria - where the top 1 % own everything and everyone else is doomed to unemployment, destitution and poverty.
Go to Lagos to see what I mean. - Reply to this comment
