- I believe it to be the lobbyists of the major corporations. They are the ones putting the legislators in office to make the decisions for us. Legislators are our "representatives" we are their "constituents." We are the "UNITED" States of America. Let us make a difference-Write your congressman! Money is just a piece of paper that we have put a monetary value on that is not backed by anything but the bonds of the government. The government fails, our money fails. No matter how much money there is, there will never be enough. Bipartisan government isn't very efficient; there are too many different ideals and beliefs to make an agreement. Get rid of partys and we'll get something done in office.

- The income inequality is greater in America than in Egypt. The top 1% own 40% of our nations wealth. The bottom 80% own only 7%. The top 1% own 50% of stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. The bottom 50% own only .5% of stocks. The top 1% have only 5% of debt. the bottom 90% have 73% of debt. The top 1% take home more of nations income than at any other time since the 1920's.
These protesters are on to something, they know who has been coddled for too long, at the expense of the many. And they know who has been doing the pampering of the rich. - Reply to this comment
- The entitlement generation is mad because they see the government teat slipping away. A couple of things here: Where were these people 3 years ago when it hit the fan? Easy answer. The entitlement president was in charge. Now that it looks like he's going to be fired, they are mad they are not going to get all their free stuff. Secondly, why occupy Wall Street? Go occupy your congressman's office. Don't like your guy kow towing to business special interests? Vote them out. (See congressional elections 2010 to see how it is done).

Please do NOT become associated closely with the Democratic Party! Do NOT let current members of Congress take over your cause like the Tea Party did with the GOP. What you are doing is honorable and right! There are vast numbers of supporters of your movement out here waiting to see how you are going to handle the "next step!"
PLEASE, DO NOT LET US DOWN!!!!!!!!!!

- "I regard the Wall Street protest as a natural outcome of a bad education system, teaching them really dumb ideas," said GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich.
I don't intend on voting for Gingrich, but he is absolutely right in his assessment of this movement. If these people are upset about the lack of jobs, Wall Street is not the cause. They should be angry at the horrible policies of politicians in Washington, which have created an extremely poor environment for any growth in private sector business (creation of jobs).
If they are mad at the rich, they should stop being so jealous, hateful, and greedy in wanting other people's money. They are wrongheaded. There is not some power at Wall Street dealing out money to Americans, we all have to earn it. I understand the frustration of not being able to find a job, but that has nothing to do with Wall Street or the rich. Wanting someone to take from the investors at Wall Street and "redistribute wealth" to people, is socialism - and it is a proven failed system. It is also a system that removes individual freedom and choices. I want no part of it in the United States.
These people are confused. - Reply to this comment
