- This hurricane will leave states with $billions of dollars worth of damage, and the states will need help from the federal government for the repairs. Let's hope that this alone does not add more to federal deficit spending. We certainly don't have the money to start a massive federal infrastructure spending program. As much as we all might like to have this, WE SIMPLY DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY. Washington is supposed to be in the process of finding $billions of cuts, and this does not sound like finding cuts in spending. If we do this, it would leave the 12 Congress members who are supposed to find cuts in even a far worse mess.
Nothing has changed with this President. He spent $100s of billions on bogus stimulus packages and bailouts, and they did not work. So, what does ne wan to try now? He wants another stupid bogus stimulus package that we do not have money to do. Nothing has changed with this guy. Nothing! All we ever hear from President Obama is "give me $trillions more, so I can spend $trillions more" (while his terrible policies all but bury private sector American business.) Where the heck does he think that tax money comes from ????? President Obama and progressives in Washington strangle private sector business (a major source of federal tax revenue) with huge increases in expenses and regulations - then wonder why jobs are not being created. It is absolutely astounding. No more of this nonsense!
Stop it! No more of this. No more "shovel ready jobs" that are not shovel ready jobs. We don't have the money for huge federal infrastructure programs. Most of us would love to have new roads and bridges, but WE DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY! We all have a wish list, but WE DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY! Washington is supposed to be trying to find ways to cut federal spending, but this President does not have this within him (except possibly gutting the military). What we need is for President Obama to take his boot off the neck of private sector businesses, so they can begin hiring again.
The horrible health care law imposes huge expenses and additional regulations on businesses in 2014, so many of them have to put the cash aside for this nonsense rather than hire Americans.
I have had enough of BIG GOVERNMENT putting it's boot on the neck of private sector business - then after it has all but choked the life from it, it comes up with taxpayer funded huge federal programs. NO more! No more bogus stimulus packages, and no more stupid bailouts. Get your oppressive foot off the neck of private sector business! Now!
Repeal this idiotic health care law, and create an environment where private sector businesses can begin hiring again. - Reply to this comment
- "Shovel ready part 2", and we all know how that turned out....

- Just have to say, that Obama has done a lousy job of creating jobs, and an even worse job of accounting for the spending, that was used.
We would be far better off, if any such infrastructure work was handled by someone other than the Obama admin. Then we might get something for our money.......instead of a Chinese construction company! - Reply to this comment

- Great more speeches about shoval ready jobs that aren't really shovol ready! I do not deny infastructure spending will create temporary jobs but if a project is funded today it will be 5 - 10 years before the first shovel hits the dirt. Listen to Obama about his first shovel ready jobs:

It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out infastructure spending will not get us out of this mess. - Reply to this comment
- This is the only the beginning of a jobs plan, now we need to choke out short term trading, fix our trade deficit so made in America is stamped on something other than a bomb, do something about banking so they have to lend money to make money and cut defense spending. Anything is better than trickledown ....RobAla, you will be the first one blaming the Federal Government when a bridge falls.
