- When Obama was elected and people asked me what I thought was going to happen; I said "ask me in a year or two".
We are now well into year three and it seems we are in more trouble than ever.
Republicans are not blameless either.
In the 2008 election Republicans gained control of the House.
Boehner and the rest of the idiots in Washington took this as giving them carte blanche to whatever they wanted to do and get away with it.
The Republicans are not even smart enough to recognize the fact that this was a backlash to Democrats.
John Boehner actually believes he was winning friends and positively influincing voters when he stirred up all that garbage about raising the debt ceiling.
He evidently believess that WE THE PEOPLE are so stupid we wouldn't recognize his tactics as blackmail and that millions of voters would vote Republicans into Congress and even the Presidency in 2012.
He described himself as a "warrior" for the people and "a happy camper" while gloating over what he thought was an outstanding victory for himself and the rest of the Republican Party.
This from a man who had to call the members of his party together and tellthen "to get their ***** in line" when he didn't have even enough of his own Party members behind him in the "politically created" furor over raising the debt limit.
I am no fan of Obama.
I think the man is a collosal liar and woefully incompetent when it comes to running the Country.
Presently; there is not one politician in Washington who deserves to be re-elected.
In 2012; THINK before you vote and don't vote simply according to the party line because you are registered as a Democrat or Republican.
We voted in 2008 as we did because we believed all of Obama's lies and thought we could trust him.
Three years later we found out just how mistaken we really were.
Don't let history repeat itself in 2012.!! - Reply to this comment

- Obutthead's plan for infrastructure involves creating a megafund and would remove authority to spend that money from Congress and place it with the White House; and putting unemployed residential construction workers to work on roads and bridges. 1. Job skills don't transfer with a few sprinkles of hopey-changey fairy dust; and 2. No one person needs to be in control of that much money, especially one so beholden to special interests, specifically in this case unions.
If Obrainiac wants to cut programs that don't work, he can start with his own. If he sincerely wants to pull our economy out of its tailspin, maybe he should float his brilliant ideas past a few economists (I hear MIT is good) BEFORE he opens his big, uninformed mouth.
He also wants to throw money at getting primary care physicians (PCPs) into rural areas, which sounds great on the surface. But what do you get when there are so many specialty areas that pay so much more that fewer and fewer doctors are choosing NOT to be PCPs, especially when they come out of school with massive loans to repay; and working in rural areas that don't pay as much as the suburban and urban areas? A DOUBLE-disincentive.
The only reason he's vomiting this load of crap is because he's campaigning in the Heartland. Here's a little bit of advice: don't try to blow this BS up our skirts in the Show Me State. I don't want to hear about what you're GONNA do after 4 years in office; I want to hear about the RESULTS of your tenure - which, I must say, fall woefully short of the hope and change of which you preached with the rehearsed cadence of a Southern minister. The fact that we haven't all had the same opportunities at higher education doesn't mean we're stupid. Everything I've heard and seen so far is insulting. - Reply to this comment

- Obama says what they all say like Bush, McCain, etc, ....the "economy is fundamentally strong". The GOP does what all politicians do when they are in second place.....they work to make the economy worse so that they will get to first place.

- This is just more BS and wishful thinking to calm public fears, frmo the king of BS. Did he close down Guantanamo? Did he tax the rich? Did he draw down the troops? . . . that is how good his word is.
