- ....My social security check is not a gift and it is not a welfare. It is an insurance that I paid for with my hard earned money for over 40 years.

- I don't believe this is happening,people who are on Disability
barely able to make it from one month to another(including my family) and now they want to keep our checks? I would LOVE to see those high and mighty big shots in Washington live on $1000 a month with rent,power,etc. I think the president is trying to do the right thing but no one up there is trying to help HIM. Doesnt any of the big wi gs up there have a family member on disability? They must like kicking a person when they are down.If they want to take our checks then I want them to come tell my daughter she can't start school next month because we can't afford clothes an supplies.Of course they won't do that because then it may put a face to what they are playing with,which is the lives of alot of people.I guess they are playing GOD,because if those checks do not go out,alot of people may starve,may die because they can't pay the light bill an keep cool.No,even God wouldnt do that. - Reply to this comment

- There are so many people who cannot manage to live without those social security checks as well as SSI well I think if they want to cut something then cut themselves off from getting a check for a month then see how it feels to live off of nothing, it's not easy as it is for some of us who depend on those checks to make it and we barely make it because of all the cuts and taking away our Cost of living raises each year, where the hell are those and when will we get them back? between Obama and the republicans this country is going to hell financially and it's because they worry about the upper class people who don't know what it's like to live from pay check to pay check like us...STOP ******* WITH OUR MONEY IT'S OURS NOT YOURS!

- Our Government Leaders are cruel and ruthless. As sadistic little children pluck the wings off butterflies, our President and his league of demented czars, pluck the life line from Seniors, the disabled and those who already don't have a pot to pee in. About the only attribute these fools have is how to intimidate the little guy. Talk about Bullying! Our government is a fine example.

- If all politicians & our leaders, both locally & nation wide would "cut back" on their limousine ridin', jet flyin', kiss stealin' & wheelin' dealin' ways, there might actually be enough money to go around for everyone & America wouldn't be in a daily financial crisis. They've turned "our (we the people's)" money problem into a perennial. However, I've noticed that politicians always seem to have disposable incomes & money to burn.

- Over the years billions of dollars was sent to those that did not have America's best interest at heart, robbed, misused, and given to entities that were not for serving the American people, protecting, and helping. We have already witnessed the abuse & mockery in the past. People that are sending a lot of misinformation has jets to fly around are having parties the cost of most of our life time salaries, comfort, and red carpet benefits. They've never had to suffer needing medical attention, never been homeless, never had to go hungry, and never had intentional harm that caused irreversible conditions. Look how much they have created destruction that is causing many Americans to suffer intentionally then turn around to try to blame it on debt, that they don't have money. Most of us may not know the exact details, but it is really time that we have someone serving America, to stand up to the corruption, greediness, intentional sabotage, bias, using what happen many centuries ago to force harm on anther to gain leverage for financial reasons, robbing us, selling us out, and really care about America, our seniors, our service men & women, not just certain ones, our children, our families, and legal citizens of America, not for another in a different country for evil, greed, power, and for hurting us. It is good that we help others, but we know most of the intentional misinformation is for attempt to hide truth and to have a feel good for allowance for a go ahead. If our service men & women were helped & all services allowed in a timely manner, our senior citizens not suffering, American citizens able to receive medical services / quality medical services with positive results, and Americans' not being hurt in all areas of their lives would not cause such a destructive result. Here we have respected you, loved, honored, served, and protected only for you to cause so much harm. I am not referring to one person, but many throughout the years that were supposed to be serving us. Please stop hurting us?

- Propose this in 2012:
START A MOVEMENT TO PLACE ALL POLITICIANS ON SOCIAL SECURITY
SOCIAL SECURITY:
Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years. Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it. You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan. In more recent years, no congress person has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan. For all practical purposes their plan works like this: When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die. Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments. ..... Now, it may not happen !!
Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives. Their cost for this excellent plan to them is $0.00. NADA!!! ZILCH!!! This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan. The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds;
"OUR TAX DOLLARS AT WORK"! From our own Social Security Plan, which you and I pay (or have paid) into, every payday until we retire (which amount is matched by our employer), We can expect to get an average of $1,000 per month after retirement. Or, in other words, we would have to collect our average of $1,000 monthly benefits for 68 years and one (1) month to equal Senator Bill Bradley's benefits! Social Security could be very good if only one small change were made.
That change would be to Jerk the Golden Fleece Retirement Plan from under the Senators and Congressmen. . Put them into the Social Security plan with the rest of us Then sit back.... And see how fast they would fix it! - Reply to this comment
- I think this is a shame, my father is on Social Security, that is all he has to live on, u mean to tell me he might not get it? he paid all his life, to have something to retire on, i think what should be done first is take the kids off it the ones that have just a learning disability, how are they to say they can't work when they get older. because there are programs out there for them, take the people off SSI the ones that work and collect it, if they can work even 15 hours a week it is proof that they can work, they just don't want to work extra hours because they are afraid they will lose free money. i feel people that need ssi should get it but come on kids with learning disabilities parents are labeling their kids that way... please do something
