slownewsdayo - I 100% agree with. The problem is try taking funding for a social program away. You would rather try to steal a pork chop from a pitbull. These liberal rats are addicted to social program money. It is like crack to them.

I love to hear liberal DemoRATs say tax big business or rich people.

Who do you think provides jobs? How many poor people have you worked for?

If you raise their taxes, they will just cut jobs.

Most Americans (51%) pay no federal income tax. I say instead of going after the "rich", lets go after this 51% and ensure they share in the burden. Too many people have no skin in the game.

Liberals are the problem. They refuse to eliminate or adjust any social program. I am glad the RepubliCANS are starting to hold their feet to the fire on spending.

If we do not adjust the spending problem, we will be having this debt ceiling discussion every few years.

The liberals will say "tax the rich". However, if you taxed every "rich" person in America 100%, we would still have a deficit.

The problem is not that the government does not get enough tax revenue. The problem is that we have a spending problem.

Again we raise the debt ceiling and give the government the greenlight to spend as usual. What do we do for an encore next year and the year after that. The only answer is to cut spending. Yes, that may mean getting rid of free school breakfasts and lunches. It might mean getting rid of rent subsidies and foodstamps. It might mean cutting a bloated government workforce. Notice the first thing they want to do is cut Social Security and Medicare, the programs reciprients pay into. Yet they want to keep the programs that reciprients don't pay into.

Funny. Everyone demands that Greece go on an austerity program to spend less and get its house in order. Yet the united States continues to spend like crazy. How congress and the American people could allow Obama to drive up the debt by trillions of dollars is remarkable. Did we think there wouldn't be consequesnces?

Well, let's see who the USA can give more money to, there's a big list of countries and foreign organizations we can donate to..BUT, what ever the US does, please don't fund Social Security or Medicare, that would be looking after our own people.
Or, let's start another war or two, we can get rid of lot's of money that way. The printing presses are running wide open for donations, but shutting down for American people..

I love how they bail out big business and throw their fighting men and women and elderly (who've paid for decades and should receive at 40 plus years interest) under the bus.

Let's not kid ourselves, we can cut all of the government agencies by 30%, we can reduce the military by 40%, all government projects already underway can be stopped, no raises for government workers, sell of government land in the far west, lease oil fields to oil companies, sell of empty government buildings, close fed. parks.

There are a great many ways to "thrift" the government and not rob the old folks or the vets.

Why is it the oldies and the vets are the first to be thrown under the bus? May be it's time to take apart the darn bus !!
