All the decades the government would pull out big chunks of money from my paychecks, I had the sneaky feeling I'd never get that money back. AARP is a sellout! Sterling Greenwood/AspenFreePress

I've been listening to this funding garbage for most of my adult life. I spent 17 years working for the Social Security Administration and I know the truth about funding and what the problems are, and They have nothing to do with funding. They have to do with political ideology, half wit wit, two bit Congress men and Senators who couldn't **** a hole in the snow if you showed them how to do it and Corporate Media talking heads that are dumber than they are.

AARP does NOT represent seniors, it represents a consortium of insurance companies that markets to seniors.

Unfortunately, many seniors have been conned -- mainly by AARP's "membership" drive -- to think it actually represents them.

It does not.

I think it is a bad thing. Everyone who gets SS paid into the system for it, and now they say it is going broke? It did not go broke for decades while other people were paying into it. Something stinks.
