When we have a war, let's give the enemy weapons so that when we get shot we know where the bullets came from.

The ATF is obsolete, they have been since the Twenty-first Amendment. How many billions a year could we save by dissolving this bunch of paper pushing cowboys. Close the ATF and hand their cases over to the FBI, or Justice Department.

Ok. I need a verified second reporting source, a confirmation.

Is anyone besides Attkisson reporting?

Either 0bammer knew about this operation, or he didn't.
If he knew, he is implicated in "lending aid and comfort to the enemy" and should face a firing squad.
If he didn't know, he should have already fired every head of every department who participated in this fiasco.
Either way, it shows us -- even you lib supporters of 0bammer -- that the community organizer in chief is in way over his head and is a danger to this country. He has to go, whether by impeachment, resignation, or the more military option mentioned previously.

If the ATF is allowing arms across the Mexican border into the hands of the Cartels that means that the ATF is arming 30 Deep in Atlanta, Georgia. Let's all thank J. Napotilano, the very anchor of our homeland security.

Every facet of our government is rife with loose cannons, and J. Napotilano is probably the best department head available. Sounds good, right?? By the way, what is floating on the surface of the Gulf of Mexico now?? I thought the oil leak was capped.

Ok so a few months ago I saw our wonderful news agencies showing the American public pictures of illeagal guns when they arrested some Mexican Drug pushers!! Funny!!! NOT! Same guns they sold to the gangsters!!! The ATF should be ashamed of themselves!! Trampling on the 2nd amendment rights of the American public!!! Be forwarned, The ATF is not your friend!!!!!! And now we find out that they were the ones who let the weapons go into the criminals hands!!! Complete BS!!!!!! Shame on you ATF!!!! Time to shut ATF DOWN!!!!

It is not the head of the agency that is in trouble, it is the PROGRAM Manager at the BATF that authorized the "gun walking."

Who is it? There is a name and that is the person responsible for illegally selling guns into Mexico in violation of several treaties and that is indefensible.

Sort of like NOT taking the Bush Administration into custody for the illegal acts regarding WMD's, torture, renditions and Guantanamo detention of POWs without proper IRC visitations...all of which they have defended, i.e. D1ck Cheney's defense of water torture...

I don't know which would be the better choice. Disband ATF entirely and fold its technical expertise into the FBI or keep them separate so stories like this aren't covered up by a large bureaucracy. Either way they are little more than incompetent thugs and are of no value to the country. From Waco to Ruby Ridge and now to this they've left a trail of distrust and disastrous missions with nothing accomplished but to put a blemish on legitimate law enforcement.
