The Bush Administration, especially *** Cheney, still misses the big picture. Sadam Hussein kept the terrorists out of Iraq for years, and the terrorists feared Sadam and his Red Guard. Iraq was no place for Al-Quaida terrorists prior to March 2003. They wouldn't dare step foot in Sadam territory. In fact, Sadam, our former ally, could have been massaged into helping us thwart off the Iranian threat with a little diplomacy that the CIA, since the 1950's, used so skillfully with other dictators around the world. Our intelligence, good or bad, had little relevance to taking out Sadam Hussein. We missed a golden opportunity to take out the 'clear and present danger' in Iran with the help of Sadam Hussein, and offering a couple of carrots in return.

I'm sorry but if American citizens, such as myself, believed the reasons were lies and manipulations from this govt. then how on earth could one in the Senate or Congress not have known either? I heard one Senator say once that there were no real secrets in Wash. Mr. Bush and co. are thugs and this govt. should be ashamed and resign so we can set up a new and honest govt. for a change. It will never happen but it should. In any event the ones responsible for the war and all the bills hurting American citizens need to resign. There should be an honest non partisonship lawyer looking into most everything happening in the govt. right now and they know it. The American people deserved better. We paid dearly for all of this and we will be paying for a long time. In fact, I don't see how the people will be able to rebound from this govt. but we at least should be given a chance and they all should resign. Some, of course, should be tried for treason for many reasons.

That Iraq will go back to the way they have been for thousands of years. Jr. saw his chance to get back for daddy, and he took it, costing us trillions of dollars, and no one pays attention to Afganistan anymore, where we only should have been, and now Rice is covering up for Bush in her phoney way......Hats off to Senator Rockefeller, he is bring out what we knew all alonf, and Bush will still look you in the eye..........AND LIE..........to all Americans

I Agree with a previous poster. Bush and Rockefeller are the same stripe. The latter is a member of the banking elite. They are the corrupt power that was behind Bush. Now they are done with him and will feed him to the dogs....thinking they are off scott free, once again. Watch Bush take the hit for 911 being an inside job. Think that's crazy? Go look at MSNBC poll question of the day today. 60% believe 911 was an inside job. Mark my words, it will be pinned on the chimp. That's why his Skull and Bones names was "temporary". And guys like Rockefeller will be "shocked" that such a thing has happened in the USA. Too funny. Or sad, I don't know which

The men who print the money - and print it out of thin air - are the real enemy to freedom and prosperity. Bush is a tool only. But a very naughty one.

Most American's now by "polls" realize the Irag War was wrong and trumphed up, and then screwed up for 3 1/2 years now. Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld obviously do not know how to win in Iraq or exit, and they copped out by saying they will leave it up to the next President. Now, the handwriting is on the wall that Iran will eventually form an alliance the ***** Iraq govt. Don't be surprised when the day comes that we are fighting Iraq/Iran, not to mention Pakistan, and of course, the ever alive Taliban. That could be avoided if this November the smart and sensible majority of American's take back our country to steer it into the correct direction again.

Rockefeller and Bush are of the same cloth. We, the American Sheeple need to wake up, smell the roses, and understand fully that the democrat vs. republican; republican vs. democrat is nothing more than a mind game. Rockefeller and Bush are both part of the New World Order. They both have the same agenda.

We can stop their game by demanding an independent investigation of 9/11. There are too many unanswered questions and too many discrepancies. The only reason I'm participating in a post on a mainstream news page is because it was a link from a alternative news page. ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox News, CNN are a complete disgrace to journalism. However, there are good folks in the mainstream media, but their hands are tied because the big corporations are in control.

No, I'm not a slimy democrat or communist. Capitalism only works when there's freedom. We're losing this precisous freedom everyday.

Again, call your congressman, local news media, neighbors, friends, and tell them we need a completely independent investigation of 9/11. In my heart, the government is clearly complicit in what happened on 9/11. There's too much evidence. And for those of you who think we're nutcases, shut your face and look at the facts yourself before speaking. We know the truth. You don't.

Mr Bush entered office with the intent of making war on Iraq. His, justification weapons of mass destruction etc, was and always has been a flat out lie and he knew it at the time. Our dim witted citizens are easily manipulated and he keeps the 'fear factor' going by constantly reminding voters "they're coming to get you" in his addresses. Doesn't someone, somewhere detect this noxious repetition. Unfortunately for Bush, you can only scream "Wolf" so many times before the 'fear factor' wears off and you begin to see that the ones coming to get you are alread here....in the White House and Executive Office Building, among other locations. All of this stuff is nothing more than a home made crisis of our own creation.

I have been following the media about the Iraq war and the reasons for it. I am not a great fan of war, I really don't like war at all. However I am in favor of the the war in Iraq and the removal of Saddam Hussein. The removal of Saddam Hussein was my only interest in this war as a goal.
The reason for this is quite simple:
The UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which protects people from abuse, torture and persecution.
Saddam Hussein has killed 100's of thousands of people within his own country. No one, at least here in the US, of our politician's have stud up to this horrific genocide. Democrat Senator Jay Rockefeller actually believes that the world would be a better place today if Saddam Hussein would be still in power.
The reasons for the war, as presented by our government was wrong and deceptive.
Human Rights violations should have been reason enough to take such a drastic step.
But Genocide today is not a popular political theme to win an election with.
This is delusional at best and indicates a a person who has lost it's marbles hence he shouldn't be re-elected.
Evaluating the mental health of the rest of the US and European governments, I would say they do not fare much better.
It is scary to watch people leading this world, who provide only lip service and giving false proclamations to the values of a democratic state and human rights. This is frightening at best.
May God be with us and have mercy on us.

I agree 110% with Senator Rockefeller,i.e. totally. President Bush is unfit for duty. He ought be prosecuted as a war criminal and/or a terrorist. Impeachment is not a suitable punishment. President Bush ought to serve hard time in a Federal prison. Vice President Cheney is equally guilty and deserves the same punishments. It's hard for me to believe that once I was a registered republican, a Goldwater Republican. Shame on Bush. Shame on each and every cabinet member.

This "revelation" came as no surprise to me. At the time the invasion was gaining momentum, I remember reading that a relatively high White House Aid had quit his position because when he was interviewed he said that since the inaguration Bush had wanted to topple Sadam and the direction was to find any available means to justify an action against him. This person quit rather than follow that directive. Of course 9/11 unfortunately gave him justification. I believe the President and top aids knew all intelligence about Sadam and his limited contacts with Al Queda and selectively chose the intelligence that would further the Prime Objective of vindicating Bush Sr. and the eventual overthrow of Sadam. Before 9/11 speaches indicated somewhat of an Iraqi threat but it was contained and only bore watching however after 9/11 all major parties in the Administration escalated the Terrorist threat was seated in Iraq. 180 degrees perception of Saddam. I have belived that Dubya has used the power of the Presidency to accomplish his personal goals. I believe he knew all intelligence at the time. He was not misled. He selectively chose intelligence which would further his own agenda and in doing so misled the American people. Presidents have been called to task for lesser injustices. The administration should be held accountable and prove I may be wrong in my assumptions. hold in the future.
