In all the years we have been in Afghanistan and Iraq it hasn't, you can change one person, maybe ten but the other million are the ones who will terrorize him as soon as we leave. We can't be there forever, it's the same as if muslims invaded the US and tried to change every christian person into believing in Islam, imagine how long and how many generations would pass something like that could be achieved. American democracy is an idea that only works here because it was bread here under unique circumstances that we cannot reproduce anywhere else.

Part of the problem is that we need to get out of Iraq because it is already a lost cause and our presence there breeds more and more terrorism, whether we cut and run now or later with more american casualties makes no difference. The entire strategy was flawed from the beginning and we will not bring democracy to those nations, there is more than a thousand years of mental brainwash there and giving them candy, playboys, reality shows, christmas, rambo, benji and american christianity will not change them.

The US government, the US military and all the other agencies are made up of US citizens and almost six years after 9/11 we still have problems, this new technique doesnt work and from what I read, the bomb detecting machines don't seem to be 100 per cent perfect neither. We foiled one plan but they will keep trying, eventually they will probably succeed and thats all they need.

I think Mark Frank is right on with his profiling technique. I would prefere that The Muslim, ie: Islamic and Terror networks of the same Mohamad would be totally eradicated from the USA and other nations that they do not belong.....Police does not work, Military does not work, The government does not work or is very slow even when it is too late. Us Citizens will do the JOB!!!!!!!!!!

Do they really want to weed out terrorists? Catch Osama Bin Laden who caused the 9/11. Remember he claimed responsibility with pride. Ultimately, the challenge is NOT thorowing regimes down. You can do it with missiles and air strike and distorting the normal life in the country. But instead, it is completly and most importantly the responsibility on US catching Bin Laden to answer many innocent died in WTC towers. Other things unfortunately US seems to ignore or is admittingly side tracking or shadowing whatever you want to call it is Pakistan, it's leader Musharraf and the terrorist cells in the country. It is understandable how US playing games to use him to help US. But it is getting unacceptable now since they found so many direct relations to the people caught in the UK terror plots. Mr. Bush claims to be doing a lot to save the nation in finding the terrorists. Is he pressurizing Pakistan with the same commitment? If not why and what is going on!?

bottom line

if we have nothing to hide we have nothing to hide......

all the extra screening or whatever they come up with is an extra burden brought on by the circumstances of today and very required if we want to even try and avoid any additional situations like those we have already had to witness... maybe those frequent flyer cards they talked about using will sound good after all?

point is we have to do something.....

Has anyone ever noticed that terrorists and suicide bombers are always young people? It is apparent that the older ones prefer life over going to meet Allah. You cannot profile zealots. Just ask the folks at Scotland Yard. Home grown and middle class.

I think one word might put the kibosh on this whole concept: BOTOX!

I'm always amazed at human innovation. Like people in prison making weapons from just about everything you can imagine. Soap?! Fecal matter?!

I can already hear the newscast about Botox...

What a wonderful world.

This idea is nonsensical and the product of an ignorant and confused mind. There is no medical or psychological justification for such a device.
What surprises me is that a serious news organization would consider reporting it.
Are you trying to compete with Jon Stewart?
I think the real story here is that one Bush's crony's has a prototype and wants a lot of our tax dollars for his useless idea.
Any sentient person should be nervous flying as long as the Bush administration are staffing and overseeing the agenicies responsible for the safety of air travel.

Most people being interrogated will be nervous. Doesn't mean that they are necessarily lying or dangerous.
But psychopaths will not be nervous. They will be relaxed and charming. But by definition they *are* dangerous.
Perhaps the psychologist could develop a way to weed them out before they commit crimes -- terrorist or otherwise?
