If you truly want to own the evening news you should add Steve Kroft as co anchor.

Katie was a downer and now Scott Pelley is a bigger downer. Even good news is reported like every wedding is a pre-divorce ceremony. I like the field reporters on CBS. I LOVE Bob Schieffer. I wish CBS could clone him!

Katie Couric was such a downer: everything was going to end up being bad. I had hopes for Scott Pelley, but it looks like the same old everything is going to hell mentality. Maybe that's what CBS wants them to say. The media is not helping by slanting their reporting toward the negative. They can even take whatever positive news there is and make that sound bad, too. I like the field reporters on CBS and am really sorry to have to go to NBC.

There is something heavy handed about Scott Pelley broadcast. It lacks humor for one thing and today's broadcast was appalling in that it left out any mention of Anthony Weiner. Is CBS trying to censor this story or take the stance that it is not news? Quite puzzling. For goodness sake, the President weighed in today and that deserves a mention. The public is fascinated with this episode and it deserves coverage. No wonder the ratings are poor with that kind of news judgement.

Really appreciated tonight's Evening News with Scott Pelley. He gave adult news for adults. Thank you so much for not mentioning the 'Weiner' story.

Finally CBS has seen fit to replace the lamentable couric with a person of ability. couric was never ever right for this job...and CBS's place in the ratings bore this out. She is gone...good riddance.

Great job Scott Pelley-much improvement over Katie, never did like her.

Dear Mr. Pelley, Congratulations on your new assignment. We wish you all the best. Considering your distinguished journalistic career, we know you will report the news fairly, accurately and honestly. And, that's all we ask. We're looking forward to your tenure at CBS News in the great tradition of Douglas Edwards and Walter Cronkite, et al. And, I know, because. At my age, I've had the good fortune to see the all - live.

The Early Show just isn't the same without Harry, Maggie, and Dave! Can you bring them back to us?
