- Andy, you used to be interesting, now you just sound like a grumpy old confused man....it''s time to hang her up. Say goodbye to your job...go home and relax in your recliner and enjoy your social security checks.

- We take exception to you referring to the plates that were shown on the program. These are speciallity plates that are for purchase. NV does NOT have a slogan on their plate but should say: proud to be a Nevadan.

- Basically, I feel more stupid everytime I watch Andy Rooney. How is it that a man like you be able to be televised? There are so many young reporters out there that are WILLING TO ACTUALLY DO RESEARCH IN THEIR STORIES, and would bring actual interesting stories to the table. You are an old ignorant man that demonstrates the problem with alot of older people today- YOU HAVE SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH CHANGE- I am astounded that you are still on prime time T.V. You are RICICULOUS in every sense of the word....Do you come up with these stories while you are on the toilet...OH I KNOW TODAY I WILL TALK ABOUT LICENSE PLATES AND THEN MAKE FALSE STATEMENTS AND POKE FUN AT EACH STATE. You are a moron!

- Hey Andy, I''d be willing to bet that most people from Ohio and North Carolina know the story behind the slogans on their license plates and know that the two statements are not contradictory. Orville Wright, one of the two brothers who are generally credited with building the world''s first successful airplane was born in Dayton, Ohio. Hence "Birthplace of Aviation". Perhaps "Birthplace of one of the fathers of Aviation" would have been more technically accurate, but it''s not particularly catchy and it is a little long for a license plate. The Wright brothers first early, successful experiments with gliders and controlled flight took place in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Hence "First in Flight". Both are correct and they are not contradictory. 30 seconds on google would have given you all the info you needed.

- Hi Andy-
I like your comments keep up your great work!
I''d like to hear your comments on the young adults in their 20''s!
Why is the "F" word so important and those body piercings! Tattoos have been around forever but the whole body?
What''s up with that??? - Reply to this comment
- Hey Andy-
You are a fool for not looking into what the license plates mean...as for Wisconsin and its Endangered Resources Plates....these are special plates that a person pays extra for as a donation to animals that are endangered in the state of WI...one of which is the Wolf (which is printed on the license plate). Not to mention that Wisconsin holds over 15,000 fresh water lakes that are in danger of over population by people building along them and also endangering the animal habitats within the area of them. You have NO right speaking of things you don''t research. By your comments you have proven yourself an idiot. I don''t care how funny or entertaining you USE to be. Get a life. Fame means nothing...intelligence (of which you have little) means alot.

- I''m not sure if you are in the state of depression or the state of despair, But you diffidently are in the state of denial for having nothing better to say about what is on the various license plates, after all they say what the elected politicians want ''em to say. By the way I think you watched too much of the Soprano''s (not a CBS show) ''cause there is a lot more to New Jersey then Linden to Perth Amboy in NJ.

- It''s finally time. Andy must go. He''s not only irrelevant, he''s getting stupid. Really... New Jersey jokes? Do they give Pulitzers for such rapier wit? Time for the pink slip, Andy. Give it up. Oh, and by the way--ever been to Long Beach or Louisiana?

- I am unsure what I find more offensive; Andy Rooney''s pathetic attempt at poking fun at our US license plates, or Leslie Stahl''s staged laughter to assure us that the folks at 60 Minutes thought it was funny. Either way, Mr. Rooney should consider retiring or finding writers with talent. I assume he was scripted, otherwise retirement appears to be the most viable option. He was not amusing, he was offensive. Please read the script before you read it Mr. Rooney, otherwise we, the viewers, might mistake the garbage for your own words...

- Andy, We are named the Ocean State because we have approximately 260 miles of saltwater (Narragansett Bay/Atlantic Ocean) coastline within our state that measures approximately 36 by 48 miles. Can any other state any size claim the same percentage of coastline? We are also very proud of our lower numbered license plates! You do a great job-Thanks, Mark Finn, East Greenwich, Rhode Island-You are correct we are far from being an island!
