So are you saying it wasn't Sarah Palin that drove him to kill?

I think he was deeply obssed with patriotism but wanted it to conform to his understanding and just wanted a politician or some one of authority to confirm his delusions of a conspiracy. Which he there may be one that hasn't been uncovered as today . The simple fact that he shops at walmart proves that he isnt a true american to support a company that sells products that are built through slave labor and some of the poorest human working conditions on this planet. If anything he is first guilty of treason by proxy for shopping at walmart.

With all that was going on over several years, there is no way that you will ever convince me that his parents didn't noticed that there was something SERIOUSLY wrong.

60 minutes blew their chance to actually "uncover" something about this wacko in arizona. They spent 15 minutes interviewing people from a community college like they should have done something... and then at the end of the entire segment, like it was a typical day they skimmed right over the whole story! Where was this guy 2 hours before the murders....WAL-MART buying BULLETS!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is the story, go investigate that 60 minutes.

with the above story being said, what will be the long term ramifications of our country, since Mental Health Coverage seems to be the BIG target with budget cuts...everywhere. Here in Nebraska we have closed down Regional Centers and put the patients out in the community and our government says that local resources like ministers, priests and the like should be able to provide for the mental health needs and counseling, taking the financial burden off Medicaid and licensed providers who are better qualified to manage care of individuals like Jared. I feel this is only the tip of the iceberg and the decline of society

There is only aspect of this coverage I don't like. This guy is a terrorist. If he were a Muslim young man with mental issues, this is not the way the coverage would go. There is a double standard here that is all about prejudice. When the young white boy goes crazy and actually kills six people and almost kills a member of Congress he is singularly crazy and it has nothing to do with inputs from his environment. When a Muslim young man commits a random senseless acts of violence no one at CBS is going to start consulting with expert psychiatrist on the pathologies that made one individual Muslim act out on violent fantasies incited from people of bad will. Please don't be religious or racial bigots. You can dismiss me, but the world sees. This white boy shot so many people and the T word is never mentioned. You save it for the poor Muslim kid who is just as unstable and commits an overtly political act. Then you rush up and talk about terrorist conspiracies and the need to be tough. When it is someone who looks like you, coincidentally, you start talking about the lone complex crazy, who showed signs of mental disease from day one and you almost make the guy an empathetic figure deserving of sympathy, even though this guy killed a little girl and smiled during his mug shot. Loughner is a terrorist. You can call him crazy if you want, but call a spade a spade. He has placed terror into the halls of America's highest government. Just because he doesn't work for al queeda and his skin is white are no excuses to rush to sympathize with him.

I am totally disgusted with the broadcast tonight. How can you give this murderer one hour of our time? This hour should have been given to the victims, and not one hour to "understand" the mind of the crazy shooter. This is exactly what Loughner wanted. He was apparently troubled his whole life and you are just glamorizing his acts. He is setting in jail, at the taxpayers expense, watching this on a flat screen television.
