- Conan is free to say what he wants, but Leno was under no obligation to him one way or another. It's easy for him to sit in his position and say what he would have done; then again, he has never had the #1 show and been forced out of it. This was NBCs decision; the network bosses wanted Leno over Conan in that time slot. They offered Conan midnight, with a half-hour lead-in by Leno, and O'Brien turned it down. Further, Leno was under contract with NBC and he coult not just leave and go do a show somewhere else. Bottome line: Leno never made any promises to Conan; he was merely going along with what his bosses wanted at the time. Once his bosses changed their minds, he changed his. This happens a million times a year in the corporate world. Promises are made, and then things change. Get over it. You pocketed $30M and have a new gig. What's the problem?

- FINALLY he gets to speak! I'm so glad he gets to say something now. Even though losing TTS was a really big loss, I honestly don't think anything better could have happened to him. His fans started pouring out of the woodwork to support him, and now they all get to see him in person on tour. Getting off of NBC is going to be so good for him, he won't have to deal with ****** bags all day long. I can't wait until this interview airs. :)
WE LOVE YOU CONAN! You don't have a mean bone in your body, we know you would have never done that to Jay. Even though he deserves something much WORSE be done to him. - Reply to this comment
- Conan is a creative, funny and kind person that was screwed by a
network. I have never watched Leno, never found him funny. I will tune into Conan and wish him well in his new endeavor. - Reply to this comment
- Conan is a creepy loser punk. He trashes the time slot, slashes ratings as the #1 show that Leno continued building, trashes Leno, whines, moans, boo-hoos and expected Leno to cave in? For what? Leno didn't do anything wrong. Conan was the one who refused to start the Late Show a half-hour later. Leno was willing to do a half-hour show. I'm so glad this non-talent immature moron will have a show on cable. I don't get cable. His show will be another huge flop, just like the one he was given on NBC. Non-talents and losers like Conan are never successful.

- First off Conan is a backstabber. He's the one who forced Leno to agree to a Tonight show switch in 2004. It's not like Leno decided to retire and then they signed Conan, they basically forced Leno to retire. It's NBC's fault that they realized that eventually Leno would compete with Conan in 2010, so they signed Leno to a prime time show.
Of course when Leno's prime time show was canceled he was due over 100 million dollars, but he'd have to sit out for over two years. Leno is all about the show so he took back TTS, which was getting less than half the ratings he was. Again, Conan isn't Leno's son and he doesn't owe Conan jack s***. Conan had his chance and if he had been getting any decent ratings he would have been able to keep the show. Meanwhile Leno is kicking Letterman's azz weekly, and that's something Conan couldn't even do. Letterman beat Conan for 20 straight weeks.
I like how people think Conan is young, he's pushing 50, he's pretty old too. And no matter what the spin is Conan did push George Lopez back an hour, Conan is a hypocrite. - Reply to this comment
- Amazingly, the moment that Leno returns to The Tonight Show, NBC is back to #1 in that time slot. The difference? Leno over Conan.
Enjoy your time on TBS, Conan. I won't be watching. You are too racy for my taste. If I wanted sarcasm and cynicism mixed with liberal political views, I would tune into dirty ol' Dave Letterman's show. - Reply to this comment
- Conan...you are a SORE LOSER. NBC is a BUSINESS -- and you were becoming a liability. You were losing viewers.
The problem actually stems from NBC offering you the TONIGHT SHOW in the first place. They should never have tried to force Leno into retirement. He was #1 for 13 straight years.
Get over it, Conan. You are a funny guy...but you just don't attract the crowd that Leno does. Heck, you took the Tonight Show to all time lows...and were currently running a distant second to dirty ol' Dave Letterman. - Reply to this comment

I'll take Leno any day - Reply to this comment
- Thank you 60 Minutes for staying classy by having the very classy Conan O'Brien on your show this coming weekend. I'm proud of you for having a guest on your show that doesn't fit with your audience demographic. No offense, but I'm 35 and I don't know anyone who watches 60 Minutes that isn't at least 10 years older than me (although I tell them they should!) and most older people are typically Leno fans. It's time for Conan to tell the story from his point of view and I can't think of a better platform for him than 60 Minutes. He is a brilliant comedian and from all accounts that I've read, an extremely nice man (even Leno can't deny that). Keep producing high quality television! There isn't much of that left on TV these days.
