- when my daughter entered kindergarten the cutoff date was 1/31...her birthday is 2/24, so she just missed it by 3 weeks. I was advised to have her tested...I did, she passed and she went directly into 1st grade, skipping kindergarten altogether! all through her school years she was always on the honor roll and when she graduated highschool, she was the Validictorian amongst all classmates who were mostly all one year older than herself!
