So easy to throw stones, not so easy to build schools in those countries, so remote and dangerous. I believe that he has done more for the children in those countries than any other organization. Let's not throw the baby out with the bath water. I admire him for the risks he's taken the hardships he's endured. So he's not a perfect person, oh well, I've yet to meet one. And as far as embellishing stories--I thought that was the norm, being of Irish descent. I'm sorry but I see the good he's done and it far outweighs anything else.

I doubt CBS will shed any tears, but outside of the U.S. readers world-wide know nothing about the controversy. TCT is currently #7 on the most down-loaded book list (as of June 20) and it remains on the book shelves in every airport around the world, and most English language bookshops.

My hat goes off to the entire CAI staff, particularly Anne Beyersdorfer, who has captained a very rocky ship, with dignity and determination, the CAI continues its mission to educate, particularly girls, in this most remote and poverty-stricken part of the world.

Only a fool can not see how racially motivated these critics are. The CAI is devoted to helping Islamic people. That is not on the Republican agenda, and this re-run is an example of their well-funded efforts to destroy not only Greg Mortenson, but the chairty itself.

You have failed. The best defense for libel is truth, and you all need to be reminded of that.

It cracks me UP that "60 Minutes" would dare to even question the veracity of this author, given the lengths "60 Minutes" is willing to go to slant, distort, twist, omit, and in general, just LIE to get the most sensationalistic stories on the air.

You can't believe anything you see from the media these days. Even if it's "60 Minutes", you can't believe it.

Oh, did you think it was about "journalism"? Did you think it was about the news? Did you think it was about disseminating "information"?

You must believe in Santa Claus, if you believe that.

It's about RATINGS. And that's ALL that it's about. RATINGS. It's got to be sensational, "hot", "sexy", or it won't sell, and "60 Minutes" won't have anything to do with it.

"60 Minutes" is just as much a LIAR as anyone else that is part of the ongoing MEDIA CIRCUS.

You can't believe anything these days. Not even from "60 Minutes".

OMG...CBS is dilligent enough to de-bunk this no-name's lies and fabrications in his book.....where is their due-diligence to give the same type of scrutiny to Pres. Obama's book. It is now being made clear, from other sources, that Pres. Obama's "story" is one whopper after another...incidents and "people" completely made up out of thin air to create a false image of himself. I will regain faith in CBS when I see 60 Minutes investigate and de-bunk Obama's "life story" book.

Some stories are worth repeating, this is one of them. Mortenson is just a money hungry creep capatilazing on the misfortune of others.

Those supporting this thief are no better than he is.

Please go to: www.ikat.org and read the blog. The lawsuit, which was not mentioned by 60 Minutes, was dismissed by a federal judge in April "with prejudice". Think about that.

Read about Shakeela and her success as a nurse/practitioner/midwife as a result of her education, thanks to donations to the Central Asia Institute. There are dozens and dozens of stories on the blog about the ongoing successful mission of the organization, and the work that has continued since the disgusting April, 2011 60 Minutes broadcast.

And the work will continue into the future. Greg is on his third trip to Pakistan and Afghanistan since last year and continues to do what he does best, creating relationships, getting schools built, and getting girls, and boys, educated.

Jon Krakauer and the media grossly distorted their "story" with a misrepresentation and distortion of facts, reports about and photos of schools closed for winter, NOT because they had been abandoned, exaggerations, manipulation of people in Pakistan and Baltistan by offering money for their "comments", facts pulled out of context, etc. etc.

I could go on and on. Just go to: www.ikat.org if you want the TRUTH.

Shame on 60 Minutes.

It's simply not IMPORTANT. Was Marco Polo true? "Mister Polo, there are some who say your description of the Silk Road is factually inaccurate." What difference does it make? C'mon Sixty Minutes -- work on something we need to know about. Like why the press gives Congressman Issa a pass on his criminal record.

Trying to destroy Greg Mortenson is not one of 60 Minutes better moves. Not many people have done what he has done in that Godforsaken part of the world. So maybe he only started 80 schools instead of 120 - how many have YOU started? Fiscal mismanagement - for sure. And he has inspired other groups to do the same thing. He is a real hero, if even a flawed one. He deserves better from a sophisticated group like CBS news. You never questioned the mere "coincidence" of your main accuser, Jon Krakauer, releasing his ebook at the same time this story originally aired. It looks shady on both sides of the fence.
