- Thiel seems to forget the fact that without the hard work of millions of highly educated scientists, mathematicians, engineers, there will be no internet which paypal and facebook thrives on at the moment. While not everyone are college material, getting as much as education as one can acquire is not a bad thing.

- There was a time, several decades ago, when CBS News and 60 Mins were, themselves, noted for being critical of the establishment, but now, unfortunately, the same ppl are critical of anything that disturbs their sense of self-satisfaction. Colleges have done a great job of selection, thus gaining public support, while at the same time their performance, as measured by the ability of states, families, and graduates to pay for this "education," has obviously decreased. Blaming someone or something else for this is precisely what the Keynesians do when trying to make a case for more public spending. As my obnoxious father was always reminding me: "If you're so smart, why aren't you rich?" But there really are no impractical things to be learned at school, even if they belonged there. We don't have to be rich, but we do have to pay our bills.
