I agree with all of these comments, that, it is disgusting to watch this "future face-lift" idiot try to make a villain out of one of the people assigned to protect our country from these animals. Apparently she would need one of her immediate family to be one of their victims to re-think her "holier than thou" attitude. Yeah, heaven forbid we torture these poor men would blow up thousands of innocent men, women and children without thinking twice! Perhaps this Leslie can thank God tonight when she lays down her head in her million dollar mansion that there are heroes like this man making sure her precious life is protected! I will never watch this program again!

Jose Rodriguez has no choice but to defend his actions, but it's pretty horrifying so many Americans STILL don't understand that torture is a CRIME.

Perform a brief thought experiment: We believe that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Abu Zubaydeyh were at least partially responsible for the deaths of just under 3,000 innocent Americans. That's awful, so we think it justifies waterboarding and otherwise torturing them. Here's a fact: George Bush, Dick Cheney, and friends are responsible for the deaths of at least 100,000 innocent Iraqi civilians, NONE of whom had anything to do with 9/11 and MOST of whom had ever even said a nasty word to any American. How should Bush/Cheney/et al be treated?

Everything we know about torture says that we would have obtained more actionable intelligence without it than we ever got using it. But LEGAL interrogation methods wouldn't have satisfied our lower-brain desire for revenge....

It's people like Lesley Stahl you can thank not if but WHEN there is another attack on innocent Americans! Did you see her facial expressions when some of the techniques were described? It was of total disgust at the thought of these things being done to others. These people are not human..they are maniacal killers out to kill Americans! You sicken me Miss Lesley Stahl!

You have gone way beyond the realm of reasonableness with this slanted, liberal garbage portrayed as a "news story".
What a despicable example of what's wrong today with main stream media: your personal bias against these interogation techniques come across loud & clear.
God bless that man that you could not initimidate him into some sought of an admission that he was wrong with the policy.
I wonder if you would have been so self-rightious if it were a member of your family that had to face 2 options at the WTC on 9/11: jump or burn to death?
May God have mercy on your soul, because you'll get none from me.
Personally, I would have personally demonstrated the "slap" technique on you with that segment of the so-called "story"; my God woman are you for real?
Going forward in your career may I respectfully suggest two options: formally go to work for the Obama re-election campaign or better yet retire. Lets face it, you're over the hill and have lost any remote modicum of credibility as a so-called "objective" journalist. Arguably, even Mike Wallace would have been critical of this piece of garbage you call an objective news story.
Have a nice day ...

While torture isn't the "American Way" 9-11 was an unusual, tragic event that took thousands of live for no good reason. America had to act. The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor killing thousands and sinking a lot of US ships. That resulted in two horrific atomic bombs being dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. 9-11 was the Pearl Harbor of the 21st century. America had to be avenged and a repeat of 9-11 had to be avoided/prevented at all costs. While the torture outgrowth of post 9-11 is really not the American way it was necessary and did prevent future attacks on America. So far at least.
While I don't entirely approve of torture it is necessary in some events. I was a prison guard back in the 60's and 70's so I know some unpleasantness really are necessary at times.

Rodriguez is selling a book. 60 Minutes is allowing themselves to be used by Rodriguez. He wanted administrative permission to employ aggressive interrogation techniques but acted on his own in destroying interrogation tapes. The CIA's own AG is a liar but Rodriguez offers only his word on this. This is no hero, just a person looking to make a buck selling a book.

Lesley Stahl and 60 minutes should be ashamed of this interview. Mr. Rodriguez is a patriot. He did what he had to do in order to keep Americans as safe as possible in a hostile environment. It's frightening to think that dealing harshly with our enemies is unacceptable. Leave our protectors alone. Lesley, stop acting so outrage and find the real criminals.

All the waterboarding and sleep deprivation Mr.Rodriguez can conjure will not undo the events of September 11th, 2001. Our government literally didn't see it coming, although we were specifically warned and made the decision not to take it seriously. To assure viewers that hopelessness and distress were instilled, that detainees were, indeed, brought to the breaking point, and, yet slept well at night...you may as well be talking about the country as a whole.
