And by the way, for the Food Police and Government Regulators, for the record.....

Water is toxic, look at how many people drown each year. Better regular water!
Stone fruits (peaches, nectarines, apricots, etc) have toxins in their seeds, Better outlaw those!
Carrots and potatoes can produce toxins. best outlaw those too!

People have flourished for millennia without this EXCESSIVE Policing of every aspect of outlives. What will destroy our well being faster than anything is Big Brother AND SISTER watching and regulating our every movement.

Why must government get involved in ever aspect of our lives. In my opinion, their responsibility stops at warning the public. It is up to us, as free citizens to decide if we want to follow the advice or roll the dice. This is more liberal government trying to AGAIN control everything we do. Put the F-N warning label on it and get out of the way.

Before all of you guys get in a panic, I'm a medical student with a background in biochemistry and I can tell you - the kind of sugar we consume on a regular basis, known as Sucrose (table sugar) is not something our body is generally designed to consume in the quantities that we do. Sucrose is a disaccharide of Glucose and Fructose, and combined with High Fructose Corn Syrup we consume far, far too much Fructose than would be expected. This has major implications on the kind of GLUT (Glucose/Fructose receptors) receptors that are expressed in our cells. So yes, this article is most definitely correct.

Let our Government put a high tax on this like they did with the cigarettes. In fact if anything may be bad for a persons health put a high tax on everything that may harm us. We want total Government control over everyone of us, Right?

When the hell are these experts going to tell that saliva is causing stomach cancer, but only if swallowed in small amounts over a long period of time.

Is sugar toxic? It is good to see that CBC has awakened from its prolonged coma. Many books have been written about sugars toxic effects on the body. Most recently the Millenium Diet book enumerated in detail why we should limit our sugar/carb intake. It could be a killer. 1,000 dead daily from diabetes, that jumps to 3,000 a day with heart and kidney disease associations. CBC is a decade behind. The Millenium Diet is a decade ahead. Note to the food police. Any disease can be made worse by nutritional deficiencies. Such deficiencies can't be effectively treated with drugs. More than 51% of Americans now take one or more medications a day which long-term, increases the risk of toxic side effects which are usually treated with more drugs; driving up the time and cost of treatment.

Where does CBS news and 60 min. stand on this subject? I mean if you're really concerned about people's health.
