Obama could have shown real leadership in saving the space program, instead we now have to beg Russia for a ride to the space station. The cost of several billion a year could have been made up on some of the wasted green energy companies the government invested in and have gone bankrupt or are on the way, like over a billion on failed Solindra. President Kennedy had a dream of going to the moon, a mission that brought our country together, but I guess that took a president who was a visionary and leader.

We're winning! We're winning! Look how small we're becoming with the republican privatise everything economics. Forget about national pride. We don't need it. What we need is the individual pride that comes with ownership that the wealthy pass it from one generation to the next enjoy. The poor should be pleased with their never ending you need to be more globally competitive pay cuts.

Hey ignorant out there! Now run to the voting booths and vote for more republican race to the bottom economics.

Time to apply at SpaceX. This company is trying to put manned American craft back in space and is hiring former NASA employees. They claim to have hundreds of positions available.

""""The problem is we have a 12-year-old at the house that doesn't understand, because he's never had to go without. He's constantly asking for McDonalds. We don't get McDonalds anymore," says Milner."""

This kind of statement always ticks me off. A twelve-year-old is PLENTY old enough to understand what cutting the budget means. For crying out loud, my parents were dead broke at Christmas when I was six or seven years old and I understood perfectly well that a color book and a hand-sewn doll was all they could afford to give my sister and me for Christmas. And you know what? That was over forty years ago and to this day I still treasure the doll my mom made out of dish towels, and the dress and pinafore she sewed out of the good part of a worn-out cotton sheet and some fabric scraps my grandma gave her.

I'm sorry for people who lose their jobs, I know what it's like, but I have no sympathy for parents who have spoiled their kids to the point where they think those kids can't understand simple economics. As for broken dreams, so what. Life consists of one broken dream after another. We get over them and move on.
