Something about this smells funny. A former head of the Mossad goes on record saying their is no reason to attack Iran now because thay may be "up to" 3 years away from achieving a Nuclear weapon. So you base your defensive strategy based on the best case scenario? The reason stated for a 3 year timeline is because they are "not rushing". Meaning that while not rushing, the longest it would take is "up to 3 years"

What if they decide to rush, what is the worst case scenario. That is what a nation and it's leaders have to take into account when preparing for the defense of a country.

the other thing that makes no sense is citing Obama's statements that he will not allow Iran to develop a Nuclear weapon as a reason not to act. Who are you kidding. Obama has shown nothing but contempt for Israel in his actions. He has made some pro Israel comments in an election year, and you are willing to stake the lives and very existence of your country in that?

I always find it very suspicious when "military leaders" retire open up consulting companies, and then quickly change their world view. It is definitely better for business/ speaking engagements, when you have a message of peace. It is just a shame that people are willing to risk the lives of their own people to do so.

The REAL question here is; "Should Iran Possess Nuclear Weapons?"
I cannot fathom ANY "infidel", of ANY nationality thinking they should !!!
Based on the "Death to all Infidels", the condemnation of the USA by Iran, the calling for the "Death" of Israel, and the fact that "NO Country Ruled by the Clergy" should EVER have Nuclear weapons....the prospect of "Religious Wars" is too great.
As far as the question of Israel's right to DESTROY Iran's Nuclear capability....one should look at the past actions of IRAQ during the first Gulf War.......
Israel was not involved in the war, yet Iraq launched SCUD missiles into that country at Every Opportunity .... Is there any doubt that they would have used Nuclear weapons if they were available??
I am not aware of the country Israel taking any military action against the ARAB world, without provocation, and in a more DEFENSIVE posture.
We have ENOUGH Countries with Nuclear Capability, without adding Radical Muslims who PREACH War and Death !!!!!
The elimination of the SYRIAN Attempt should be repeated AS often as Necessary. It was a SURGICAL Attack on a FACILITY, NOT AGAINST the PEOPLE.
If the USA was in the position of ISRAEL, we would HAVE to react in the same manner !!!
If there is a solution, other than Eliminating the Nuclear Capability of these people, then it must be to Change Their Religious Convictions that they MUST KILL EVERYONE ELSE.....
In other words, rewrite the Curran......and I have a few doubts of THAT happening soon...............

The topic is the potential nuclear annihilation of Israel by Iran and what to do about it, and Leslie Stahl asks this guy if he's ever killed anybody with his bare hands? So much for the professionalism of CBS News. As far as this guy's argument goes, why did Israel sit back and let the Iranians get dozens of nuclear sites? Why has it not attacked by now? If that was a mistake, why should it wait until Iraq has dozens more sites? Or full nuclear weapon capability? Or until Syria or Egypt also begin to develop nuclear weapons? Why wait for your enemies to grow stronger before you go to war with them? These enemies have repeatedly threatened to wipe Israel out since the its foundation. The only thing that has saved Israel so far has been its military superiority, thanks overwhelmingly to the USA. This guy is not rational. Perhaps that's why he is the EX-Mossad chief.

Religious fanatics, especially of the murderous Islamic type, cannot be trusted to be rational about anything. They are not motivated by logic or reason, but by idiotic and fantastic beliefs fueled by lifelong learned hatred.

They should and must be bombed out of existence ... very soon.

"His portrait is complex: he led a life of violence, but is a vegetarian." One of the silliest observations of all time. Food preferences tell you nothing about who a man or woman really is - at least not in real life.

Dagan might as well had done an interview with Iranian television.

The problem is that Israel should never have been supported by countries like the USA. A lot of Christians in the USA live with the belief of the chosen people that a Jew, is a Jew is a Jew. How wrong they are if they read their Bible. If you consider the Chosen people, it is a tribal argument and you need to have the blood lineage. The problem is that the of the Jews that took over Israel have no claim to the land using the chosen people theory. Who will you believe the pastors that don't care to research the history of Jews that were forced to become Jews but will beat their war drums or the truth of history. Whom should you believe?

Almighty God who warned us of "the blasphemy by those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan." Not only does the Bible warn us, but the Jews themselves also confess that today's Khazar Jews are imposters. Consequently, we Christian Americans no longer have any excuse for perpetrating or financing the lie that the modem-day Jews are either Judahites or Israelites.

"Nathan M. Pollock has a beef with the Israeli government.
His elaborate plans to celebrate this September the 1,000th anniversary of the Jewish Khozar alliance were summarily rejected.
An elderly meek-looking man who migrated to Israel from Russia 43 years ago, Pollock ekes out a living as a translator of Scientific texts and proofreader in publishing firms. But his great passion, hobby and avocation is historic research. He has devoted 40 of his 64 years to trying to prove that six out of 10 Israelis and nine out of 10 Jews in the Western Hemisphere are not real Jews' Jews, but descendants of fierce Khozar tribes which roamed the steppes of southern Russia many centuries ago.

For obvious reasons the Israeli authorities are not at all eager to give the official stamp of approval to Pollock's theories. "For all we know, he may be 100 per cent right," said a senior government official. "In fact, he is not the first one to discover the connection between Jews and Khozars. Many famous scholars, Jews and non-Jews, stressed these links in their historical research works."

You can keep believing the lie, you can keep participating with continuing wars or you can start making the Jews, the one's with no legitimate Biblical claim to land to start negotiating peace with the Palestinians. The truth is there for you to find and the question is do you want the truth or is it easier to just sit in the pew and listen to preachers teaching false doctrine?

From what I've read, Israel is the only country that an American can make a donation and deduct it from their taxes. I'm tried of it and I believe many Americans are tired of it. Time to wake up!

The greatest motivation for an attack on Iran is a failed US president who will do anything to save his foundering administration. October surprise anyone?

And here come the keyboard commandos in full force once again, calling for war without understanding it's consequences. Perhaps Mr. Dagan knows a thing or two about the Iran situation. Perhaps Stephen Hawking knows a thing or two about quantum physics. Perhaps all of you armchair admirals should consider signing up for front-line infantry and put your money where your mouth is. The reality is that you are a bunch of cowards who are feeding into the state of perpetual fear which is manufactured with the purpose of stripping you of your rights and freedoms. Grow up and stop being so cowardly, you make me sick.

I'm not sure exactly where I stand concerning Dagan's appraisal, but much can be gleaned from Stahl's line of questioning. For one thing, the mainstream media in this country aligns itself totally with the Obama administration. You can discern a great deal of what the administration is thinking by the inferences and assumptions of liberal reporters like Stahl.
