- I am dropping all insurance policies with AIG. We gave them money and their fat cat execs abused it.
If this was China they would have been shot for their actions.

- "Why AIG Stumbled, And Taxpayers Now Own It"

Taxpayers just own the debt obligation. Taxpayers will only lose money in this deal. Barney Frank and Chris Dodd are rich from the political contributions from AIG and the others.
This is how politics work in America. - Reply to this comment
- If we own 79% of AIG, why is it so hard to get the executive retention bonus money back?

- "They were sort of blindsided by the ability to make short-term money." And AIG, like just about every big bank and many companies outside the financial industry, rewarded short-term profits over long-term growth or even planning. "Pick the low-hanging fruit" has been a motto of management for several years along with "you get a bonus for brining in money this year." Delayed gratification? Long-term investment? Planting trees for the fruit you'll pick years down the line? Not for the fast trackers!

- If I own AIG, can I give myself a job there? Can I give myself a jet? Wait, the jet too much? Ok, I'll start with a cubicle. Can I get an AIG coffee mug?
I asked CBS for one, but they haven't responded as of yet... - Reply to this comment
