May Jesus open ALL your eyes and hearts after 8 years of brainwashing from the Cheyne (not Bush) administration. Even D-i-c-k himself did NOT dare to invade Saudi Arabia and control the oil, WHY, ask yourselves ? MOST OF THE RADICAL COMMENTS BELOW: HAVEN'T YOU LEARNED YOUR LESSON YET ? KEEP YOU NOSE OUT OF OTHER COUNTRIES BUSINESS AND CLEAN UP OUR OWN MESS THAT d-i-c-k LEFT BEHIND. Appreciate what President Obama is doing to improve our image across the globe AND FIX OUR BROKEN ECONOMY. The days of the Empire are over. - Reply to this comment
- What a joke. America would (has) sell it's soul to the devil for more oil profits. We should have attacked Saudi Arabia not Iraq.

- HOW CAN ONE PRESIDENT BE SO STAUNCHLY AGAINST WATERBOARDING OF TERRORISTS BECAUSE HE BELIEVES IT IS TORTURE, AND BE SO IN FAVOR OF PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION, WHICH IS BEYOND TORTURE AND ALWAYS RESULTS IN THE DEATH OF THE NEARLY NEWBORN BABY? WATERBOARDING HASN'T PRODUCED ANY CASUALTIES THAT I HAVE HEARD OF.
GO TO YOU TUBE AND VIEW THE VIDEO OF A PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION IF YOU WANT TO SEE AND LEARN WHAT REAL TORTURE IS MR. PRESIDENT.

Its what gets votes that counts. This guy is pandering the left for votes. Its easy, the last 4 presidents have ignored them and they respond like mesmerized children to attention. - Reply to this comment
- While I will not argue the other part of your post, this part I will.
Waterboarding is torture and it is against the law. The act of torture does not have to produce any casualities to be agains the law or be immoral. The rape of a woman may not produce a casuality but it is still against the law. And I doubt that anyone would say that rape is just sex and therefore it is OK. We hold that rape is contemptable and we should hold torture in the same contemptabilty.

The fault of your logic is that many people do not agree that waterboarding is torture. Those many who do not agree are enduring greater risks because you who believe it is torture prevent its use to protect the rest. So, the bottom line question is:
1. Is it moral to risk the lives of others because you dont agree with the methods they use for protection?
More specifically, why is it more moral for you to stop my use of waterboarding than it is for you to risk the lives of my children? And dont run to say "waterboarding did not prevent acts of terror. Four out of five experts who were there have said otherwise. - Reply to this comment
- I am happy to learn this re education works. It should be used on every religious zealot in the world, including some American Christians. I'm not talking about all christians, but the blood thirsty, sadistic ones that use something beautiful like Jesus to hurt, maim, and kill in blood lust and sadism. These hypocrites that claim all need to be with their religion but have the most terrifying minds on this globe. What is the difference between a zealot Hindu, zealot Muslim, zealot Jew, or zealot Christian? Nothing!

- I am not a critic of re-education. As a matter of fact, the act of forgiveness, itself is an act of re-education. It requires an open mind and plenty of healing. Many, who are victims of the bad deeds of others will become re-educated and hopefully with healthy ideas going into the process. Some already know that garbage and anger in that process only produces a victim carrying garbage and anger until they are re-educated a different way.
There are many who were in the wrong place at the wrong time, just as these detainees, but they do have their lives ahead to look forward and have an opportunity to prosper with their second chance. What would you do if it was you?
For many detainess, they will see the experience as a life-saving one. They could have easily been killed in a bombing or a battle had they not been captured and detained.
I am certain that bitterness will confront every detainee as it has while under indefinite captivity, awaiting a better status.
Obviously, some bloggers have no conscious or serenity about the healing process and the opportunity to re-educate.
Perhaps, each should read John McCains account of life after being released from captiivity. He was re-educated and became a successful senator. No Vietnamese citizen ever heard John McCain say we need to return to hostilities, because McCain healed through his re-education.
Eventually, critics of process will get it.....probably when you need it, yourself. Arrogance has never been the gateway to healing and recovery. - Reply to this comment
