The BEST thing for the State of Louisiana is to return back to a natural swamp and for parts to submerge back into the ocean. The rest of the U.S. would be better off.

I watched him on "60 Minutes" and was kind of astounded at his admission that he took the name "Bobby" from the TV show "The Brady Bunch."

This brings up an issue that bothers me about conservatives these days, that they're in such a hurry to "assimilate," they drop every trace of their own culture and replace it with an ideal "American" identity--even if they have to borrow it from a TV show.

The Irish politician John Hume once referred to America not as a "melting pot," but as a "stew pot;" he saw America as a place where citizens retain the best of their culture while blending it to the fabric of American life, making all of us culturally richer in the process.

I'd be interested to read any thoughts from people who saw the interview last night.

This Forrest Gump type of a speaker is NOT going to connect with the American people. What this welfare State Governor does not realize that his speech was another snow job. WE do NOT need another incompetent in Government. He is one of the biggest recipients of Federal aid. He is a hypocrite!!! The American people have raised the bar and jokers like Bobby and Palin need not apply!!!

Gov Jindal seems more like a dedicated government worker than a politician. I dont see the smoothness and warmth that a good politician needs to move up. That he could get elected in Louisiana is somewhat surprising, but I dont see him being a national leader of the party. The personality just is not there. But he could still do good things for Louisiana, and Lord knows Louisiana needs a lot of good things to happen for it.

Aw HELL YEAH!!!
With such STARS as Limbaugh, Palin and Bobby (Brady) Jindal we can forget all about a repeat of the 2000-2008 National (and global) Facepalming NIGHTMARE.

Jindal is a mediocre governor who's more focused on becoming President than actually doing the job he has now.

Sounds familiar. Replace "governor" with "senator" and you''ve got it.

If Jindal is the best the Republican Party has to offer, they're going to have trouble regaining the White House even after Obama's total incompetence becomes apparent.

My queendom for a real statesman.

Why does the Republican party insist on putting these kooks out there? Didn't they get enough with Palin?

Just because you don't agree with the foundation of the political party you feel these people are 'kooks'? Are you a liberal? Does that mean you support abortion AND PETA? Would that qualify as 'kooky' in your book...if it was a republican policy? You can see where the confusion comes in, right?

At least we KNOW where they are headed and it is away from Supply Side Economics.

When you get to the place where you fully grasp what that really means...you'll be willing to listen to alternatives to 'redistribution of wealth on ANY who work and pay taxes'.

Bush was NOT the model for conservative or even Republican politics. He started this slippery slide into government bail out...which left the door wide open for a full blown liberal with designs on a Socialist States of America to get in...and both men are more alike than they are different.

Neither actually listens to anyone (although they go to great lengths to give this appearance...with 'break out sessions' and 'daily feedbck meetings)...neither has any desire to compromise...but both give the impression they are 100% genuine and only want what is best....but based on what they believe in their hearts only THEY can provide. Both govern by loosely interpreting the Constituion or by getting enough people to either look the other way or say they are on target...and both had and have supporters unwilling to accept the truth until we're in over our heads.

Change change change but the end result is the same....the less you make the more you will be required to give. People have the impression Obama is out to help the little guy....but all he's succeeding in doing is running off the big and bigger guys that used to take up the slack for the little guy. It's the free loaders who have it made in the shade under Obama.

Let's see Nobama's birth certificate is the real issue.
Posted by mtw0008 at 7:03 AM : Mar 2, 2009

==============================
It's time to let that issue go:
The United States Supreme Court refused to hear the suit about Obama?s citizenship and dismissed it. (McCain was included in that one too)

But that sunny "Leave it to Beaver" optimism is classic Bobby Jindal, a man so determined to be true blue American, he changed his name.

I'm sorry but I've had all the George W. Bush's I need for a lifetime. This guy gave us nothing but the same old line to continue to do what we've done for over 3 Decades. Just look at what has taken place over those years. In 1976 to lower 90% of this nation held 51% of the wealth. Thats about what it takes to support this nations standard of living. By 2005 that same 90%? They held only 27% of the wealth according to the Department of Labors figures. We can't continue the Supply Side insanity. Until the Republican Party begins to accept that, I see no choice but to follow the Democrats. At least we KNOW where they are headed and it is away from Supply Side Economics.
