When asked by Cooper whether she will ask Congress to reinstate the ban on assault rifles, Napolitano responds, "I haven't thought that far. "

Gee lady, you may want to start to think a little further than the nail polish.

ASSAULT RIFLES / GANGS

Start to make the connection lady and think about these things, because
sooner or later we will all have to think about both of them, and oh I don't
know, maybe as part of your job you should be thinking about them already.

These gangs don't seem to mind gun battles with police. I wonder how they would fair against a battalion of US Marines!

They would do the same as US gangs would do against a battalion of British Marines. And the Mexican people would feel the same about US Marines coming into their country as you would about British Marines coming into this country.

tHIS IS THE CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN!!!

Raid Angers Homeland Security Sec.
The nation?s Homeland Security Secretary is furious that immigration officials did their job this week by arresting 28 illegal aliens who used fake documents to work at a Washington state engine plant.

Instead of being commended for their good work, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have been blasted by their new boss, Janet Napolitano, who has ordered a swift investigation into the worksite raid because it broke Obama?s promise to the influential ?La Raza? movement?that undocumented workers won?t be arrested.

There?s really not much to probe, however. ICE officials say they conducted the raid at the engine plant in the northwest Washington city of Bellingham after a pair of gang members tipped agents off. Upon investigating the information, officials confirmed that the factory employed dozens of undocumented workers, many of them with fake or stolen Social Security numbers and other counterfeit documents.

That information seems irrelevant to Napolitano, who as Arizona governor vetoed several key laws to curb illegal immigration in her state. The stakes are higher now that the entire nation?s safety is essentially in her hands, however.

As Homeland Security Secretary, Napolitano oversees a massive agency that encompasses ICE, Customs and Border Protection, Citizenships and Immigration Services and the Transportation Security Administration. Combined they work to preempt terrorist attacks by protecting the country from outside threats.

Oh boy! A year and a half and we got a whole $50M and some drugs in the latest bust. Do you all realize that this isn't even in the NOISE LEVEL of the drug problem? The drug cartels are making HUNDREDS OF BILLIONS of dollars on illegal drugs.

BY ANY MEASURE, THE WAR ON DRUGS IS A TOTAL FAILURE.

We need to stop dealing with the drug problem as only a SUPPLY side issue. We must also deal with the problem as a DEMAND side issue as well. And that means putting USERS of hard addictive drugs in jail. These are the drugs that fuel all the crime. As far as marijuana, it's a relatively benign, non-addictive drug used by MILLIONS every day. We need to realize that the better approach to marijuana would be to make it legal, tax it and derive revenue from it. I make a very clear distinction between a benign non-addictive drug like marijuana and the highly-addictive drugs like crack, and cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, etc. USERS of hard addictive drugs need to go to prison. USER of marijuana need to pay tax on it just like we do with alcohol.

This is a sensible drug policy that would completely undermine the drug cartels and bring peace to our streets. THINK ABOUT IT !!!!

Right on , well said. I cannot add much more. Also we have corruption here in the USA as well. Look at the Olly North scandal, and the little CIA buddies with all of the drug transporting corruption that they do here into the US. That is half the reason for all the problems. The mexican drug lords are their little drug contact buddies.

As long as the borders are open this will continue and get worse.
Our government keeps ignoring the illegal aliens in this country, until it becomes a crisis which I believe is the word our new president likes to use. The government will continue be silent and not act because they don't want to offend anyone with one exception "Americans". Mexican cartels have grown roots, how many terrorist are here because of the governments lack of action to secure our borders?

"As long as the borders are open this will continue and get worse."

It will continue as long as there are billions and billions of dollars to be made supplying drugs to the people who want them. We can throw money at this forever but we aren't going to stop the drug trade. There is just too much money to be made and the American people would not tolerate the kind of police state we'd have to become to make a serious dent in the drug problem through tough laws and harsh enforcement.

If we really want to hurt Mexican organized crime we need to legalize marijuana. They make most of their money selling marijuana to people in this country, and marijuana helps them sell all their other drugs. More marijuana is consumed than all other illegal drugs combined. Over 100 million Americans have tried it, including most American adults under 65. They sell most all the cocaine, meth and heroin consumed in this country nut only hundreds of tons per year of all those drugs combined are consumed here every year compared to many thousands of tons of marijuana. The other drugs piggyback on the marijuana and all run throw the same channels where they will be offered to most pot smokers. Their huge marijuana business makes it much easier for them to sell these other far more dangerous drugs. Pot should be bought from licensed shops that don't sell all those drugs.
