- Sully,
Just wanted to say "Thank you", it is great to know there are pilots like yourself. I fly everyweek, take off on Mondays and hoping to return on Fridays. A few years back, I was to be on a plane that took off from Lexington KY to Atlanta, as some people know, that plane never took off due to a big mistake and no one made it except the co-pilot, if not for a change in itinerary the night before, I would have been on that plane.
It just makes me feel so much better are pilots like yourself that can make me feel like I will make it back home to my wife and kids every Friday - Reply to this comment
- "Did you give yourself even a few seconds though to acknowledge that you had averted disaster?" Couric asked.
"No, because I hadn''t quite yet," he replied. "And I had business to attend to. I had a job to do."

That was a silly question. And a GREAT answer.
This guy is a total pro from start to finish.
I think Neil Armstrong slauted him. - Reply to this comment
- I remember striking a duck as I was taking off in the company''s Hawker 800 from the Williamsburg airport. My board of directors even gave me a statue comemorating the event and, I think, to embarrass me into not flying the company jet, which they were trying to discourage.
