Great job by this ex-military vet.

For once a great story by 60 Minutes who historically like to propagage anti-Republican stories and run pro-Dem news pieces.

Nice not to have to put up with the usual liberal dogma and olde sterotypes..........

As I watched the story this morning it brought tears to my eyes, listening to the heroic efforts by all to make sure their fellow men and women all made it home safe. These people are all the epitome of the word humanity. My son was a fisherman on a 3-man boat and when the boat went down Jason was lost at sea. The captain of the boat told me "it was every man for himself". Jason never had a chance as a 20 year old boy with a captain like Fred Fisher on his side. If Captain Sully or any of his crew were in charge my son would have had a prayer of surviville. You all are amazing human beings. Thank you for giving the rest of us hope....

How embarassing to have Katie Couric ask Chesley Sullenberger whether or not he prayed while performing the Herculean task of safely landing a monster jet on a frigid river. Instead of asking what steps he executed; how he calculated his probability of landing safely; how his experience as a glider pilot factored into his decision-making, she grins through his answers and asks "what were you thinking?" Not very specific and not conducive to edification. Without equivocation he delievered a perfect response: "I was focused on trying to get the plane down safely; I''m sure passengers in the back were taking care of that." Couric didn''t seem very well prepared -- or maybe she was a little too much in awe of this remarkable man. Let us be in awe, Katie. You just do a professional interview that illustrates how remarkably he behaved, OK?

First-rate pilot, third-rate journalist interviewing him.

An incredible hero. He''d make a truly remarkable president for our nation. What we''ve had in the past few, including the one we have now, pales in comparison to this man. God bless him, his co-pilot, and the flight attendants for going beyond the call of duty. No amount of awards and accolades will ever be able to aptly recognize what especially this pilot did for our nation. He, and not Mr. Obama, epitomize what hope is all about. He knows how to handle extreme stress and get the job done correctly. Our nation will forever be grateful and indebted to him. Brilliant. Courageous. Humble.

This was one of the most painful interviews I have ever seen, Couric takes the lead in stupid questions. I was waiting for her to ask "did you put your hat on before you left the plane" But then again maybe she did it was just cut.

My 9-year-old Step-son, Derrick was watching the Flight 1549 story before he left for school this morning. Captain Sully was describing how he decided landing in the Hudson was going to be his best bet. Derrick pointed at the T.V. and said to my husband, "Dad, next time we go to Florida, I want to go on HIS plane!" I told him that would be a great choice! Congrats to Sully and the Crew, and God Bless all 155 Survivors and the Responders!!

I think there should be a statue built to honor the pilot and crew for their spectacular performance.

It is very annoying to see comments posted multiple times. Can you people take the time to grab the mouse, move the pointer to the little box that says "publish" and click. How hard can it be? Duh!

just believe that although "Sully" did a great job landing that plane in the Hudson, GOD allowed all the passengers and crew on that plane to survive. It would be nice for "Sully" the human, to at least give divine intervention a word of thanks. How arrogant.

How arrogant are you! I suppose all the plane crashes that have ever occurred where everyone died is because god didn''t care that much for those passengers? Give me a break! Sully is a true Hero, you instead are a true moron!

I do not have a respect for so called celebrities that the media are full of in those days. I have always said that i my heroes are simple people that do extraordinary things. Like doctors for instance that save lives every day.
Cpt "Sully" is not an ordinary man of course. He is a PILOT. A *** good one. For a man like him I have a deep respect.
God bless him and his family.
That goes for his crew as well.

Actually the reason why the Ethiopian Airliner flight-961 couldn''t make it to crash-land safely in the Indian Ocean in 1996 was, because one of the wings touched a coral riff under the water that unfortunately led the plane to break into pieces, let alone, that the plane was hijacked, run out of fuel and the terrorists were still threatening both pilots during the landing. The advantage hero pilot Captain Sullenberger had was that he could think and plan peacefully unlike those hero pilots of Ethiopian Airlines flight-961, Captain. Leul and co-pilot Yonas, who were under stress from the beatings (one of the terrorists smashed Capt. Leul%u2019s head with a fire-extinguisher) and psycho-terror of those primitive hijackers, till the last seconds of the landing. Thumb up! Captain Sullenberger showed us, that it is possible!
