Dear Ms Couric,
I watched your very interesting interview with Captain "Sully" on 60 Minutes last night. You did a good job. He is a wonderful man, completely realistic, down to earth and without hypocrisy about prayers. I was happy to know that people around the world recognized his fine achievement and said so. I believe their letters and tributes to him show to what extent people are still good at heart and how much they long for the heroic, the rational, the good.

It''s a shame that some refer to Captain Sully and his crew''s competence and rationality as a "miracle." Perhaps they''ve forgotten the phrase that is the cause of human greatness: the power of the rational mind. Perhaps, for them "miracle" does not mean "inspired by God" but rather "beyond the ordinary." Certainly, the mixture of naming exactly what Captain Sully and his crew did and then tossing in the word "miracle" indicates merely a lack of that appropriate phrase. Perhaps Captian Sully and his crew''s fine accomplishment will return such usage to our discourse, both public and private.

It was a great interview and very touching. It''s nice to here such stories with great endings. However I must agree with Liberator37 and dwkay5 that several obvious questions were not asked. Like did they attempt at avoiding birds? Did anyone else see the birds from ground control? Speed at touchdown? What about interviewing the flight controllers?
But for the most part I enjoyed watching the interviews.

Thank you for bringing the whole crew together for America to see. Their picture should be on every training manual. We needed a new hero and they are it. After flying on a US Airways A320 last weekend, I know everyone paid attention to the crew and their instructions. GREAT JOB!!!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA

These are the kind of stories that people want to hear about. Capt. Sullenberger said it right: people want to be hopeful. Absolutely phenomenal job to everyone involved with this. Give me more hopeful, human stories.

I remember striking a duck as I was taking off in the company''''s Hawker 800 from the Williamsburg airport. My board of directors even gave me a statue comemorating the event and, I think, to embarrass me into not flying the company jet, which they were trying to discourage.

I think Katie Couric is a light weight and is the reason I never watch CBS news.I think her questioning of Captain Sullenberg was dreadful.I think her asking him if he prayed was inappropriate and insulting. He answered the question with class. He saved that flight with knowledge experience and courage, not with divine intervention!

An amazing story about an amazing group of people. I was glued to my TV throughout. However, although I realize you''re paying Katie a ridiculous sum of money to be your "top dog", couldn''t you find anyone on your staff with any more technical savy than she? I mean "did you stop to pray?", "did you stop for a moment after the water landing to congratulate yourself?" He obviously didn''t have time to do ANYTHING but land the plane and get everyone out. How lame could you possibly be with your questions? Sully and his flight crew deserved MUCH better.

The irony of Couric''s question to Sully about whether he prayed is that, had the good captain taken a few moments to do such a thing, he would most likely not been able to effect the picture perfect landing that saved 155 lives.

Not everyone is a Christian, or even religious. To ask such a moronic question of someone who is clearly a rationalist, is to invite ridicule of the questioner. Sully''s response was further evidence of his superior character.

"Did you pray?!?!"
"Were they praying?"

Knock it off, Katie. That is not news.

Let us be in awe, Katie. You just do a professional interview that illustrates how remarkably he behaved, OK?

With all the garbage in the Hudson, I''m surprised he didn''t just put the gear down and land normally. Some days, you can stand on that water. Yuck.

This was one of the most painful interviews I have ever seen, Couric takes the lead in stupid questions. I was waiting for her to ask "did you put your hat on before you left the plane" But then again maybe she did it was just cut.

No doubt! Kinda reminds me of the time she asked the presidential candidates "What makes you cry?" She is a moron.
