President Bush was being bombasted by the media and the lefties before he ever set foot in the White House. He was never given a chance, and then all He!! broke loose due to things that had been in the making for years if not decades.

Gosh, I guess your right. I wonder what''s wrong with the 80% of the people that aren''t happy with Bush.

Instead of giving handouts to GM so they can continue to build their gas guzzlers he should use the same money as an incentive to them or whatever other US company can make more fuel efficient or battery operated cars.

We need to stop all bailouts. It only rewards failure and poor management. Instead we should be rewarding success and good management with incentives. Failing companies including financial companies should be offered incentives for demonstrated improved performance. As usual congress has it backwards. Don%u2019t bailout defaulting homeowners either. People who took out loans they couldn%u2019t afford shouldn%u2019t be rewarded. Don%u2019t reward irresponsibility. People who are keeping their mortgages current in these difficult times are the ones who should be rewarded. Congress should be investing in infrastructure and a 10 year program to improve alternative energy sources and reduce reliance on foreign oil. This will create jobs in the US and turn the economy around. Until the economy recovers we should reduce spending on bells and whistles (unnecessary spending). Come on Congress, wake up and do what''s right!

I was in line like many of you who voted for hours. I started at 6 am along with my mother. I was there to see people who were white stare at me with disgust.

As long as you continue to see yourself this way, you will continue to see racism. It is sad that you see yourself as making good money for a black man and living in a white neighborhood. Get over it already!!! I''m pretty sure you bleed red just like I do. I didn''t vote for Obama but I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. I''d like to see him be a good president for all the people. Meaning people that earn over 250,000 a year, people that amke 2,500 a year, big business, small business, young, old, black, brown, tan, white and green people. The US Pres should lead us all and the sooner we stop seeing ourselves as seperate, the better.

This guy has got to be best public speaker in the world! He uses more words to say absolutely nothing than anyone I''ve ever heard! He never answers a direct question! How can all you people be so fooled! God save the USA.

I believe that president obama can do just as well as the previous presidents. I belive that we all should just kick back and allow him to do his job. A change from all the dissapointments that we''ve had thus far is probaly what we should want. Imagine once again what we''ve been through just these last four year''s? Is this what we all want? Can the same individuals that put us in this situation in the frist place actually have helped us out of it? Do you belive that thay really wanted too? Give this man a chance, and believe with the rest of us that he is unbias in his attitude in helping us all. God bless amarica NOW!

Some folks have an axe to grind because their guy lost. Gee, it sure sucks to be you. Well, give Obama your best shot. He''s a man, he can take it. If that doesn''t help, you can always try primal scream therapy.

Meanwhile, the rest of us will be doing our part to repair the damage done by the Bush/Cheney administration during the past eight long, arduous years.

I was there to see a white middle age man see so many African Americans in line to vote and at the sight of this punch the gas in his car to go about 70 miles per hour with no regard for human life as I myself literally had to jump out of the way and grab the the baby of the lady standing behind me(who also happened to be black)so she would not be hit by the outraged motorist. And I say that to say this, I am not a black male looking for my chance to say "We Won" because we have a black president elect, quite the contrary. I, myself am just like the est of you. I want a president who is going to right our countries ship, and if that president were to have been white, asian, or Latino, then so be it. I just want our country to get back into being as great as we know it can (and shall) be.Please don''t take my statement as someone who does not white people. Again, quite the contrary. The majority of my friends are white. I just feel that people should know ignorance is alive and everywhere and my job is not to be rude or disrespectful to whites because of the ignorance of Steve Kroft. I would rather let my voice be heard and voice it to any and everyone I can until CBS or either Steve Kroft releases a statement of apology to not black people but ALL people......
if you want to contact me on this... please feel free to email me at Danstini22@hotmail.com

That was a touching moment and for Steve Kroft to seguay from that and using in the same sentece the promise of Mr. Obama getting his daughters a puppy if he was indeed elected president.I understand how yes, Steve Kroft was asking the question about the puppy, but the way he positioned it was absolutely tasteless and shows the hidden prejudice that I and many African Americans feel that many (NOT ALL) white
conservatives have and have exuded being that there is a Black man who is the president elect.I myself am a young single African American male from the south, in my late 20''s, no kids, and I great job with a major cell phone distributor making great money and actually, I live on a side of town with a majority white population. I myself did indeed vote for President Elect Obama. I was in line like many of you who voted for hours. I started at 6 am along with my mother. I was there to see people who were white stare at me with disgust.

...continued...........I myself was totally offended and I myself am ashamed at CBS for letting such an ignorant statement air on television when we as a country should be happy not just because we have an African American President, but because of the advancments African Americans have made. It was a touching moment to hear Mr. Obama talk about before the votes were tallied the moment his mother in law grabbed and clutched his hand during this time and think about how far she has come from segregation and now to having an African American president.

Hi, This is my first post on the CBS website. I, as like the rest you, also watched the Obama speech on 60 minutes tonight. I felt he spoke from his heart and it did not seem rehearsed or scripted. It seemed as though he spoke as a person of the poeple FOR the people and that was quite welcoming. However, I"m very shocked no one on here has brought up the topic I am about to discuss. I felt it as absolutely dispicable how 60 minutes reporter Steve Kroft tried to make an attempt(and a terribly failed one at that) to compare Mr. Obama''s Mother in law to a dog. The smirk on Mr. Kroft''s face after making the statement summed up what could have just been concieved as just mere conversation, yet more of a last second jab before the interview ended....

jslambinc --- You, like so many people at Fox News, have misquoted. First of all he said 95% of WORKING Americans would receive a tax break. Now, unless you make well over $250,000, you have no reason to be posting your lies.... by the way, if you don''t make over $250,000 chances are you are either a redneck or an old man who has a bitter route against African Americans -- which means that you are closed minded. Buddy, it''s 2008, not 1942 -- yes, the world has changed and for some reason you''re on the internet so you can''t be that out of it, but you haven''t moved into the 21st century with the rest of the country. Try shedding your bigotry and then moving to a more sensible conversation on a blog. Stop pointing the finger, start pointing the thumb -- realize if you''re not part of a solution, then you''re part of the problem.

Whether some like it or not he is the next President. Don''t continue to go against the grind, get with the program. Regardless of what anyone think he is a very clever man who put alot of thought into what he say and do. He can''t really do any worse for this country than the current President who alot voted for and have gotten there feeling twisted because he didn''t do what they thought he was going to do for them. At least Obama wants to help everyone and not just some. Just say a prayer for our next President and live life the best way you can!

Obama is going to give 95% of working americans(those of us that struggle to pay our morgages & car payments) a tax break by shifting the tax burden to the 5% (that have 60% of the wealth in the USA) of the richeses people in the country. How cruel to make them forgo buying that 5th Bently this year and making them pick from the other 15 cars they own to drive yet another year.

Why r you people still arguing about what PRESIDENT OBAMA can or can''t do.Let him get into office and do his job like every other elected President has done before him. He''s no different than any other. And by the way he''s all of OUR President not just some of us.And when he''s making these big decisions we will be following the rules like it or not.SO instead of saying they won''t work or he can''t do it we better Pray to GOD he can fix it.SO. How You like him now????????
