- I don''t know, it doesn''t even sound like he''s hitting his stride, some people are more efficient than others, for instance the new Intel Atom line of chips is only 4W, compare to your usual guzzling power supply of 250W.

- Proven reserves of natural gas in the U.S. - 5.5 trillion cubic meters
Annual consumption of natural gas in the U.S. - .5 trillion cubic meters
We have about 11 years of natural gas remaining before we''''re entirely dependent on foreign imports.
How does this situation differ in any way from dependency on foreign countries for oil?
If we start now and make a concerted effort, we could possibly convert 30% of our vehicle fleet to run on natural gas within ten years. The only little problem with that is that we''ll be importing about 80% of our natural gas at that point. - Reply to this comment
- Yo, T. Boone, you forgot to include into your plan all the biomass coming from the Democrats.

- Picken''s $165K gift to Oklahoma State was mentioned, but since he required the university to invest the money back into his company, it has all been lost. The school is left with interest payments on something they never actually received. I have already announced to my family that I am only giving them cash this Christmas, but instead of giving it to them directly, I''m investing the "gifts" in my 401K.

- I concur with everything Pickens implies with the exception of wind power. One only has to see the wind farm off Route 10 in Southern California to see the uglyness of these farms. It would take a farm the size of Rhode Island to power a city the size of Boston. Lets face it, the internal combuston engine is here to stay until we discover some other source to propel our vehicles. Other than nuclea power. natural gas is the only alternative for energy production. This country has centuries worth of oil and gas combined but the automobile industry needs to get going and bring out cars that run on natural gas. We don`t need cars that achieve 150 MPH or reach 60 in six seconds. what we do need are inexpensive conversion kits for existing cars, so people can have a choice of natural gas or gasoline.

- Anybody that has the money and lack of ethics that Pickens has can do what he is doing. Pickens'' plan is the same scum-bag plan he had with Kerry, only this time he wants to Swift Boat through eminent domain, private land owners and have you with the help of congress help him do that so that he can get richer. What a jerk!

- My Energy Plan Is The "Only Plan" . . . that will earn me another billion dollars before I become a cold, lifeless, corpse. Oops, too late.

Maybe he could switch parties and join the ''motionless congress''. - Reply to this comment
- Is T. Boone Pickens Selling Off Some Wind Turbines?
It''s a question I investigated when I heard a rumor he was -- and what that means about him and his Plan. Last night''s 60 Minutes segment comes off as puff piece.

- Good old boy T. Boon is at it again! He must have a pocket full of leases for gas drilling. The only time this liar ever surfaces is when he sees a chance to rip the public off or destroy some one who recognizes him for the liar he is. If he puts 60 million into anything you can buy one of those funny insurance policys that he''ll make half a billion on it! Maybe he can sell his plan to the "swift boaters" he paid for in the last election!

This guy may be a genius or a fool, but I''m not listening to anyone that backed George W. Bush. I''m particularly not going to pay attention to someone who contributed $3 million to run the "Swift Boat" adds in the 2004 election.
This guy is the problem and now he knows it. He is not the solution. I believe he is entirely motivated for his own self-promotion and possibly a little deathbed repentance at this point.
Where was the "Picken''s Plan" for the past forty years? This isn''t his plan. He is just trying to usurp it to somehow make it his legacy. He doesn''t want to die having people think he has done more harm than good for humanity.- Reply to this comment
- Energy independence, national security, and financial security should be considered as synomous terms. We should work to create an energy industry based on production of all kinds and conservation of all kinds. The U.S. needs to become a net producer of energy not net consumer. Let''s set our goals high. This is the country that went to the moon in 10 years of concentrated effort. The Pickens Plan gives us a good starting point. Rose''s very slanted and unfair question about oil production had a false premise very similar to the CNN question presented to Palin. Bush, McCain, and Palin are not saying the drilling for oil will solve the problem. They are saying that it is part of the solution. Boone says drill for oil but that it won''t solve the problem. We have abundant sources of solar, wind, natural gas, and coal (clean it up!). Let''s get on with it and stop talking!

Tips are not automatically added to a bill. The person receiving the tip is not being paid a living wage and is dependent on the generosity of strangers. It diminishes their sense of self-worth. It is a system perpetuated by the exemption of restaurants from minimum wage laws. If the restaurant had been one that automatically adds a 15% gratuity, and you had then suggested to the waiter that you might have given him an extra amount but would instead give the amount to a hungry person in his name, his reaction might have been different. You wanted to provoke his anger to buttress your argument. In doing so, you manipulated the results. - Reply to this comment

- T. Boone certainly makes many good points, but to suggest that his solution is the "only" solution is both arrogant and short-sighted. Further research may open up many innovative alternatives. I''m sure he has invested heavily in his solutions, and has a vested interest in their adoption. That doesn''t mean that he isn''t right, at least in the short-term. But he really should try to develop a little humility.

- I am appalled at the deception spread by the McCain Campaign .
Drill here drill now........McCain is not very well informed or he is in the pocket of BIG OIL.
Big Oil wants access to all US land and off-shore sites.
The real facts are that there are 1,995 rigs exploring and drilling for oil & natural gas in the USA right now.
1,995 rigs drilling for oil & natural gas at both on and off-shore sites. Source Houston based Baker-Hughes; UPI Sept. 26, 2008.
Of the millions of acres currently leased by BIG Oil, 78 million acres are not being drilled. Of these 33 million acres are off-shore sites and do not need any further Government approval for exploration. Eventually Big Oil will get to these sites.
McCain & his Big Oil cronies do not want you to know the truth. Copy and spread the truth.. - Reply to this comment
